The Dark castle loomed large, threatening the sunset in the sky. The walls of the castle of dark stone etched with centuries of wind and rain that seemed to absorb all the light around it. The castle stood at the peak of a cliff overseeing its kingdom below, and behind it, away from the cliff, stood acres of training grounds and deep forest glazed with a thick grey mist.  It was a place that commanded both awe and dread, a fitting home for those who walked the line between death and darkness.

Inside, in a room lit only by the flickering light of a dozen candles, Lord Voldemort stood, his expression a rare mix of pride and something almost resembling affection? Beside him, a large, ancient trunk with what was packed to the brim with clothes and books.

Stood beside him was Dakara Riddle, notoriously know across kingdoms as the son of the dark Lord and The Heir of Darkness, his icy blue eyes reflecting the candlelight as he stood with a look of confusion plastered on his features.

"Dakara," Voldemort said, his voice a harsh whisper, "it is time for you to begin your journey. A journey that will lead you to power, knowledge, and destiny- The Heir of the Dark Realm."

Dakara knew with the tone of his father's voice, he was the light in his darkness and only he could make him proud.

Dakara nodded, his expression a mask of calm resolve. At 17, he was tall and imposing, with striking features that commanded attention. His dark hair fell over his forehead in a tousled wave, and his eyes—icy blue—held a depth that few could fathom.

Voldemort handed him a piece of parchment, aged and weathered. "This is your ticket to Hogwarts. You will join them in the first year. Use this opportunity to learn, to grow, and to find your place in our world."

Dakara took the ticket, his fingers brushing against the ancient paper. "Yes, Father. I will make you proud."

Voldemort's lips curled into a sly grin. "I have no doubt you will. Now, your cousin Draco will accompany you. He knows the way and will ensure you are settled."

Dakara rolled his eyes as far back as he could at the mention of his bastard cousin- Malfoy. Before  his father could see a glimpse of resilience on his face, he nodded again, his mind already racing with thoughts of the legendary school and what awaited him there.

With the final sigh, Voldemort left his son's room, looking back wearing a proud smile only he could feel.

The following morning, the platform at King's Cross Station was bustling with students and their families.

Dakara stood against a wall, breathing heavily beside Draco Malfoy, his cousin.

Dakara's POV

"Relax, Dakara," Draco said, his voice dripping with confidence. "It's only school- not that you'd know what normal looks like. Must be quite the novelty for you."Draco said, adding a patronising punch to my shoulder.

Here we go..

I smirked, tucking my hands into his pocket. "Careful Draco. Keep touching me like that and people might think you're obsessed."
Malfoy scowled and flipping me off as a sign of affection.

As they approached the barrier between platforms nine and ten, Dakara felt a surge of excitement. This was it—the gateway to a new world. He followed Draco through the barrier and emerged onto Platform 9¾, where the Hogwarts Express awaited, billowing steam into the crisp morning air.

They boarded the train, and Draco immediately set off to find the trolley witch. Dakara took a seat by the window in an empty compartment, watching as the platform receded and the train chugged into motion.

Dakara's POV

Minutes later, Draco returned with an armful of sweets—Chocolate Frogs, Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, Pumpkin Pasties, and more. "I bought enough for the whole trip," Draco announced, tossing a Chocolate Frog with enough force that it slaps me right across the face.

Bitch

I whisper under my breath as he flashes his yellow teeth grinning at his accomplishment.
"With a smile like that, you should be more careful with sweets. Rotting teeth wouldn't suit a pureblood prince." I jeer, tearing open the chocolate frog before he gets a word in.

Malfoy curls his lip in disgust as he plops down onto the seat opposite me, feeling more conscious than ever.

The chocolate frog announces its presence by croaking, looks up at me and bows its head in respect before leaping onto Malfoy's face.

As the train sped through the countryside, Dakara's thoughts drifted. He was leaving the familiar, dark confines of the Dark Castle and stepping into the unknown. But there was a sense of destiny about it all, an unshakable feeling that he was exactly where he needed to be.
