Chapter Twenty-Eight

Start from the beginning

"Sinner, don't do it!" I heard nunna said. "This is the only way...." I said as energy is draining away from my body and thick blood is cascading in my cheeks. "No!" I heard a loud firegun and the next thing I know, I stumble in the floor again, but nothing I felt. I open my eyes and I saw hyung's body lying dead instead of me. "You must live Sinner, run! Now!" Nunna tug my hand and push me hard into the window.

I drop in the ground feeling my backache from the hard drop. Fireguns was the only thing that can be heard inside of the house. Help. Please help us. They're killing my family. Why is there anyone who can hear us? What am I doing here? Why can't I protect them!? Why!? Why am I so weak!? I let them die before my eyes. I let my family dies infront of me.

What is wrong to me!? Why am I trembling in fear!? Move! Move before they can kill you! Move! But nothing happened, as if I was waiting for my death. I don't even know if I'm still breathing. Silver. Yes, Silver was still inside. And they can't find her even if they search. She's still alive and breathing. That's all I have to remain alive. I have to get her away from the assailants. "Where's the other kid!?" I heard them talking in the second floor.

"Outside, he was push." "Hey! I'm still here, if you want the key, I have it!" I shouted with all my strength. I don't care right now, all I care is that Silver is safe from them. "He's here! Seize him before he can get away! Now" Now all I have is that they take the fake bait.

I can see silhouettes dashing inside the house. In a few second, men come rushing towards me, and the next thing I know I am running too. "Catch him! Get the key!" Said the man behind me, still running. I felt the cold air piercing through my airways and making it painful to breath.

I came to the vast plain just the back of our house, and I think that my decision was a big mistake. They can open fire at me without even thinking the things they can break. "Run! Catch him! Run you bastards!" They slowly catch up to me now that I am nearing the forest. I must I have still luck in me. I dash for the forest as fast as possible before a stray bullet pierce through my body. "Shit!! His gonna hide in the forest! Shoot! Shoot him, now!!"

Bullets are raining scrapping my side that burn like shit. "Urgh! Blast it!" I tried to stop the blood coming out but I guess luck is not my side anymore. Another bullet pierce through my left thigh and I stumble back in the long and steep cliff on my left side.

(Silver's POV)

Fire guns, screams, pain, disgust, sorrow was all I can hear, but nothing to these mattered to me. Just those things make something breathless, lifeless. I heed what Sinner told me, after nothing I can hear I tried to open the compartment I was in. The bookshelves itself automatically slid when you tried to open the compartment itself from inside. The first thing I saw was the mess in my room. I hurriedly went to the adjacent room where I found the oppa and unnie lying in the floor. Blood was everywhere, their own blood, covering their perforated bodies.

Dead. Aaaahhhh!!!! Oppa, unnie!!! Wake up, don't, don't!!!! Aaaahhh!!!" I burst to sob as I was losing something important to me. My own family. My own self. My own sanity. I hugged their bodies tight as I was apologizing to them. "Mianhe unnie oppa, I can't do anything to save you, I'm so sorry." After a while I left their bodies and search for downstairs where I find umma and appa lying in the living room. "Umma...appa...forgive me...I didn't do anything.... I'm so useless. I should be the one lying here breathless not you. You don't deserve this, not even umma. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry...."

Why does things have to happen? What wrong they did that they deserve to die? What right do they have to take my family away? The pain made me numb, the tears made me cold and their lifeless bodies made me insane. Nothing mattered to me now, but the miserable fate my family holds.
