Chapter Twelve

(Ritsu's POV)

           

            The afternoon practice done and we prepare for the stage in the grand hall where the ball will be held. The stage was set. The tables are set on the two side of the hall. The set up plan was already starting and we have to wait for the time.  "Senpais, the costumes are ready." Alexis announces. "Really!? I'm getting excited!" Takami said excitedly. "Alright, we have to prepare now before the ball starts." We all go to the dressing room for us to change. After a few minute, all are dress.

            "Eh? Kohei and Ritsu are partners?" Takami said. I look at my reflection in the mirror. I am wearing a black cocktail dress that covers half my thighs, with white laces and ribbon at the back, accessories and high black leather boots. I turn to face Kohei who wears an identical black suit with white laces, black slacks, and high black leather boots with matching black scarf. If you imagine it, we look like a couple rockista in modern time. He looks at me but turns away immediately. So this was Ayaka's plan. I was thinking that others would be like this also.

            "Senpai, you look so pretty in your dress." I turn to face Alexis who is wearing a white long gown with matching diamond choker. I smile at her. "You look dazzling too, Alexis." She giggles and stare herself in the huge mirror. I remain silent while waiting for the ball to start. A few moments later, someone knocks on the door and opens it. Jiro is wearing a white tailcoat, white slacks and black leather boots that match with Alexis.

            "I think I found you a match Jiro." I smile at him while he replied a frown. He turns to face Alexis who is staring back at him. He suddenly looks away. I saw a red line in his cheeks. Is he blushing? This is the first time I see him like that. And he look so cute when he blush. I think I know why. "What brings you here, Jiro?" Kohei ask. "It is time, Meter senpai is calling for you." He said then walks away. I stand and fix my dress and put on my mask.

            "Ok, were set let's go." I said and walked out the door.

            We are stationed in the back stage so we don't see the others while going to the grand hall. I move the curtain to see what is happening inside. You can see the whole place if you are here. In the crowd, I see Meter senpai wearing a dark blue evening gown while Kannon senpai was wearing a scarlet gown. I anticipate that Sho and Kaname senpai was wearing identical clothes and I was right. Sho senpai was wearing a dark blue tuxedo while Kaname senpai was wearing scarlet tainted coat. Even though they wear masks I easily identify them.

            "Do you think Ayaka's plan will succeed?" My heart suddenly jumps in surprise because Kohei suddenly speak while his face was a few inches on mine. I can almost taste his breath with the short distance. Thump...thump...thump...thump. My heart suddenly pounds hard and I'm breathing irregularly this time. Why does his nearness have so much effect to me? "Are you ok, Ritsu?" My spacing blow out by his voice then I clear my mind.

            "H-huh? Of c-course I'm ok." My voice was shaking and I'm already stammering in front of him. Then suddenly, I don't anticipate the next event. "Hic, hic, hic." I have hiccups when I am nervous, but it seldom happens to me. "Senpai are you alright?" "You're having hiccups." Kohei said. "I-I'm fine, hic." I cover my mouth and try myself to calm down. "The performance is getting near, we have to do your hiccups." Takami said. "He's right, we have to do something to your hiccups." Kohei suggested. "I said I'm fine, hic."

            "No you are not!" Kohei shouted anxiously while staring at me with worried look in his eyes. He grabs my hand and drags me in a vacant room.
