This is the start of our story.

The ocean water rushed up and down on the sand, It came to my feet and dropped back down. I look over and see a girl. Her hair is light brown, and it looks almost blonde. I’ve never seen her around, I slowly walk towards her. Maybe she’s on vacation here. I think to myself, it would be odd if I didn’t know her.

I finally reached her. “Hey, do you live around here?” I questioned her. She glances at me, looking a little startled. She takes a second to answer “Ah, no I don't, I’m visiting my aunt, I’m starting to come here every summer.” She points behind her to a small brown beach house surrounded by trees. She returns the question. I answer “Yes I do, I live a block down. I didn’t know you were Ms. Laura’s niece.” I let out an awkward laugh. She smiles and focuses her eyes back on the ocean.

The sun is setting,  and it's quite pretty, especially during summer. I glance at her, she’s staring out, wrapped in thoughts. “Would you like to be friends?” I ask as I  turn to face her. Her eyes met mine, “Of course, What’s your name?” She gives me a smile. “My name is June.” I reply, then ask her the same “Really? My name is Summer.” Her face is very soft and welcoming, hard to explain.

After a few minutes of small talk, I hear a voice yell from across the beach, “Summer!” I look over to see Ms. Laura waved her hands to get Summer’s attention. “Well I’ll see you around then.” She smiles and waves to me as she spins around and begins to walk towards the brown house. Ms. Laura works at the elementary schools. She’s one of the teachers there, she actually used to be my teacher.

After saying goodbye, I began to walk towards some back trails that led to my neighborhood. Minutes pass, and I finally reach my house. It's small and blue. Some would say it’s kind of trashy, but I think it’s pretty cozy. I walk in and feel the moist summer air coming in through the open windows. I hear my sister and her friends talking loudly in the living room, I smell my mom making dinner and the faint sound of the tv playing in the background. I smile, walk in, and close the door behind me.
