Hi, I'm Addie. It was a normal day at school today, my friend Kayla came, my best friend Jayden came, and even my favorite teacher, Mrs. Lee came today.
During first academic the loud ringing sirens of a hard lockdown warmup blared through school startiling students from all different grades. Students, and teachers were all surprised. we all thought it was just an unannounced drill so we all sat in the corner giggling and laughing as we watched the teacher go cover the window of the door. Soon after the loud drills stopped. as we were all about to get up they started again. My friend Kayla looked at Jordan and I and we looked back, soon after kids started to look around confused if this was real or not.
Our teacher panicked as she checked her computer emails. "Alright boys and girls stay extremely quiet and calm." she said to us, we started to panic swell as we saw that this.. Was not a drill, And it was real.
Jordan and Kayla looks at me as they start to cry, "w-whats going to happen to us" Jordan says as he grabs his bad and covers his body up with it. "I'm not sure Jordan.." i said to him. "Addie you can't be for real, we might die what are we going to do!" she whispers to me.
our teacher locks the door and secures it putting chars and desks in front of it. Students start to cry silently as they text their parent(s) that they love them. I looked around at my other friends and see them closing their eyes and praying that they stay alive through this.
As soon as my shock passes, i start to cry. The sirens still blaring at us "warning this is not a drill, warning this is not a drill" over and over again. "Help me please god help us" i hear Jordan as he prays. He's not religious but i guess this was enough to let him pray.
Five minutes pass by, no commotion or anything. The sirens stop repeating "this is not a drill"
(gun cocks) (BANG) screams would be heard. "What the heck.." Kayla said as she drops her phone from her hands shaking so much. "I think, I think that was Alison.." I said.
Jordans jaw drops. "my girlfriend?" Jordan says as he tears up. "it sounded like it.." Kayla said.
"are you actually flipping serious? That could not have been her." Jordan says.
Jordan, Kayla and I hug each other and hold each others hands. "if we don't live.. i want to tell you guys that i love you so much, and i hope and pray we won't be separated until we depart from old age." I say as we all start to cry together.
We all start to cry as more shots, and screaming is heard. "please, please, let us survive." All of us say. Students whimper and shake, we are terrified.
(Banging on door) We all lift our heads and hold each other close making a barrier using our bags from everyone else.
"Let me in!" a student with a familiar voice says.
No one responds. (BANG) no sound of banging is heard anymore. Echoing screams from restrooms are loud. Mrs. Lee looks at all of us worryingly. " I will protect you always, no matter what." "just stay brave" she said as she smiled at us.
Kicking of our door was loosening it. After many kicks the door finally opens.
We all scream as we see the horrifying student covered in blood that wasn't theirs.
Mrs. Lee guarded us. (BANG) Mrs. Lee was down. blood splattered and students near the door ran and made it. Kayla, Jordan, and I were stuck with at least 5 other students.
Sirens were heard in the distance.
The shooter only had a few moments to do something before making a run for it.
(BANG) (BANG) (BANG) students, including Kayla were down. The shooter ran. Jordan and I looked at each other. " KAYLA!! PLEASE" Jordan and I shouted.
Kayla opened her eyes for a split second and we begged her to breath. She tried to get as much energy as she could but she lost to much blood. "I love you guys so much, thank you for being there with me.. And I'm so sorry.."
