"Let's fuck this cowboy!"

"Shh," He shushed you, pulling you down by your sleeve, and then whispering harshly, "And we're not here to fuck him, we're here to hurt him."

"Hell yeah, we are." You whispered back, nodding with an excited, scrunched up face.

The two of you scurried out from behind the bushes, your binoculars thudding quite painfully against your chest as you ran, and then ducked under the guy's kitchen window when the light turned on.

"Alright, what's the plan?" He panted out, not in the best of shape, and you would be the same if you hadn't taken up running with your friend, Bri, several months ago.

Sorry for saying 'fuck you and fuck this' nearly every morning that wasn't just a grunt in greeting, because clearly you knew what you were doing, and it is currently paying off.

"I came prepared," You whipped your backpack around to your front and unzipped it dramatically, making him roll his eyes before you shuffled through everything, "We've got your classics, spray paint, fake positive pregnancy test, knife with real blood and his planted fingerprints," You held up the bloody plastic bag at that one before continuing, not noticing the alarming looks he was giving you, "Silly string, half gallon of fake blood, fake scorned lover's letter – trust me, it's juicy, photo of a random six year old that my cousin gave me so I'd know what kid was bullying him and I could take care of it, a bartender's phone number on the establishment's napkin – equipped with her own lipstick kiss and-"

"What the fuck?"

"What? I'm only human and she was cute, we're actually getting drinks tomorrow night."

"There's so much to unpack here," He groaned, putting a hand to his head as he shook it, and you bit your lip to stop yourself from pointing out the pun, "But can we start with the knife and real blood? Why and how the fuck do you have that? With his fingerprints??"

"From when he stayed over and you guys had drinks, he left his glass on the – it doesn't matter, and don't worry, it's my own blood," You rolled your eyes with a teasing smile before continuing, "So, if we go that route, we'll just end of Scream it with you stabbing me to set up an attempted murder situation."

"You want to frame this guy for attempted murder?? I just kind of wanted to spray paint his garage door with the word 'cheater' or fail at setting his car on fire, not-"

"I've got lighter fluid and a lighter in here too, who says we gotta fail?" You smiled to yourself, looking down at your loot.

There was a noise inside and you both immediately pressed your backs against the house, not moving another muscle as your eyes went wide in fear. After a moment, you both relaxed, letting out deep breaths, and turning to each other again.

"You're literally insane."

"Hey!" You protested, whispering angrily, "You're the one who asked for my help!"

"Yeah, but this is-"

"It's not like he dumped you, Lee, he's hiding a secret family from you! I'm not letting that go unpunished, I was just happy to follow your lead on how this was gonna go, but if you're bailing..." You raised your eyebrows, lifting the knife bag again, "I can always stab myself and run to the police all on my own."

"Stop it," He hissed, pushing your hand down to put it back in the bag, and then eyeing your attire with disbelief, "And what're you even wearing right now?"

"It was on sale." You muttered guiltily, pulling at your skintight black dress.

"You seriously need to stay away from fifth avenue."
