Alex jolted awake with the suddenly presence of someone on his room. "Whoa. Chill kid." One of the men that rescue him said as he gently pushed Alex back down onto the soft whitewashed bed. "The thumb drives are with Blunt now." Another answered his unspoken question. Alex nodded thankfully. He would have panicked from the tube down his throat if not for his past experiences with the tubing and a punctured or collapsed lung.
"Hello agent Rider." A voice greeted as he entered the door. Speaking of devil... Alex thought drily as he nodded his greetings, he can't actually talk or do anything because of that stupid tube down his throat. "We're sending you to Beacons for you to recover and get some training." Alex raised an eyebrow at the word 'training'. Really? Hasn't he received enough training? Being sent on missions constantly and not getting a break. Given a higher dosage of painkillers so that he virtually feels no pain, given that he takes the medication on a regular and scheduled basis. Alex can't complaint about it, they are either gonna threaten him or send him on a for sure fatal mission which he somehow survives. All hail the luck of a devil. All hail the reincarnation of satan. Immortal. I'm getting off topic.
Blunt was no less than please when he saw Alex still alive. Still useful, good, their best weapon up their arsenals. He was even more pleased when he saw Alex couldn't put up any form of argument not that he would win the argument anyways. He saw Alex merely nodding before setting a laptop bag full of things on the table. "It's revision material and some mission you can do on beacons without moving anywhere or having your physical body involved." Blunt had said before leaving. Alex was fuming. Can't a boy have his rest?
*************
Alex limped out of the car, and winced in pain as his foot made contact with the ground. He held onto his rib area tenderly as he shouldered his duffle bag and a laptop bag full of work and a modified laptop from Smithers. Alex then took as big of a breath his injured ribs would allow. He was immediately discharged two hours after he woke up and was shipped here, to Wales. Alex smiled internally at some of the memories made here. He trudged up to the sergeant's office. He gave the door two firm knocks and entered on permission. "Cub! what are you doing here so early? I wasn't expecting you for another day or two!" The sergeant said, stopping whatever he was doing and not even giving Alex the chance to snap to attention. Alex stood at attention anyways but his nose scrunched up slightly in pain as he greeted the sarge while trying to hide the pain. "At ease soldier. Now explain."
"It's kind of a long story sir."
"Well I always have time of one of my best soldiers, sit down and tell me you adventures." Sergeant Tyler said, all the tension leaving him as he relaxed in the company of his youngest soldier. Alex told him in rough details what had happened during the mission and what the plan by his superiors were which infuriated Tyler to no end. Then he told Tyler about being shipped here 2 hours immediately after he woke up and being dumped with a bag load of work to do. "Those bast*rds." Tyler fumed. "Well, Cub. I suggest you take it easy this week or two. I assume you know your way to K-unit's barrack."
"Yes sir." Alex took that as a sign of dismissal but was stopped at the door. "One more thing."
"Yes sir?"
"The Navy SEALS would be joining us for a bit. They'll be bunking with your unit." Alex groaned which caused Tyler to laugh. New people... I'm gonna bet there are bound to be a few new recruits as well. It's gonna be SO fun trying to earn their respect. Alex thought, rolling his eyes.
