I was forced into an arranged marriage with Dawn, a billionaire, to save our company.
At first, I told myself it was just a business deal, but I couldn’t stop myself from falling in love with him. It didn’t matter how cold he was or how much he pushed me away. I loved him.
But my love came with a price.
Dawn turned my life into a nightmare. He’d bring different women in our home like I wasn’t even there, breaking my heart every time.
One evening, while I was busy baking a cake, I heard the front door slam. My chest tightened. He was home… and he wasn’t alone.
Peeking out, I saw him with a woman who had long red hair. They were all over each other, kissing like no one else existed. I couldn’t look away as they stumbled toward his bedroom—our bedroom.
I stood frozen, tears spilling silently down my face. It hurt so much that I thought my heart might stop.
Not long after, the woman stormed out of the room, her face red with anger. She saw me in the kitchen and marched toward me like I was her enemy.
“You’re Clea, right?” she asked, her voice sharp.
“Yes,” I said, confused. “Why?”
“You witch!” she screamed, grabbing my hair. Before I could react, we were in a full-blown fight, pulling and shouting at each other.
“Enough!” Dawn’s deep voice boomed as he rushed toward us. His strong hands pulled us apart with ease. “Don’t you dare touch my wife!” he barked, his tone dripping with authority.
I staggered back, catching my breath, while the woman’s furious glare shifted between me and Dawn. “Your wife?” she spat, her voice trembling with anger. She jabbed a finger at him.
“This bastard moaned your name while we were in bed! ”
Her words hung in the air, sharp and cutting. I froze, my mind racing.
Dawn’s jaw tightened as the woman stormed out, slamming the door behind her. The room fell into an awkward silence.
I glanced at him, unsure if I wanted answers or if I was too afraid to hear them. “Is it true?” I finally asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
His eyes met mine, and for the first time, I saw something unfamiliar—vulnerability. “I didn’t mean for that to happen,” he said quietly, running a hand through his hair.
“That’s not an answer,” I pressed, my heart pounding. “Why… why would you say my name?”
He took a step closer, his towering figure making it impossible to look away. “Do you really not know, Clea?” His voice softened, but there was an edge to it, like he was holding back.
My chest tightened, confusion swirling in my mind. “Know what?”
He let out a bitter laugh, shaking his head. “You think I bring those women here because I care about them? I’m trying to forget something I can’t have.”
His words felt like a punch to my chest. “You can’t have?” I repeated, my voice trembling. “You’re married to me, Dawn. What is it you can’t have?”
His eyes darkened, and for a moment, I thought he wouldn’t answer. But then he said, almost too quietly, “You.”
The single word left me speechless. My knees felt weak as I tried to process what he meant.
“That doesn’t make any sense,” I said, my voice shaking. “You’ve always treated me like I was nothing to you.”
His hands clenched into fists at his sides. “Because I thought it was better that way. I didn’t want to ruin you with the mess that I am.”
I stared at him, torn between disbelief and a flicker of hope. “So, all this time…”
“I was a coward,” he admitted, cutting me off. His gaze bore into mine, raw and unguarded. “But seeing that slùt insulting you… it just proved I can’t fight it anymore.”
The air between us felt heavy, charged with emotions I couldn’t name. I opened my mouth to say something, but no words came out.
Dawn took a step closer, his towering figure making it impossible for me to move away. His voice dropped, soft yet intense. “Do you still think you mean nothing to me?”
I froze, his words echoing in my head. My chest tightened, torn between the pain of the past and the confusion swirling inside me. “I… I don’t know what to think anymore,” I whispered, my voice breaking.
He let out a shaky breath, his frustration evident. “You don’t get it, do you?” His eyes locked onto mine, unguarded for the first time. “I fucking love you, Clea. I’ve loved you from the start.”
