02. "𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶"

Maddie stood in the kitchen. She knew how her head was a mess knowing that she had ran into Patrick again. She knew how it was the last thing that she was expecting as she started a new life in a new village. She knew that she wanted what was best for Annabelle and she knew how Patrick wanted to know their daughter

She knew how part of her felt guilty over the fact that he never got to be a father to her but she knew all he had done in the past and how she was protecting her little girl

Maddie knew how Patrick wanted to know Annabelle and she knew that she told Annabelle everything over Patrick and how he had treated Maddie and what he had done. One thing that was said over their relationship was it was honest. Annabelle wasn't just her daughter but she was also her best friend and she didn't want to force her into anything that she didn't want to do

Maddie looked to see Annabelle as she walked into the kitchen and looked to Maddie and frowned "mum are you okay?" Annabelle asked as Maddie looked to her and smiled

"There's something I need to talk to you about" Maddie said as annabelle looked to her and raised an eyebrow at her

"Why do I feel as if I am not going to like this" Annabelle asked

"Because you're probably not. Your dad he wants to meet you. He wants to get to know you" Maddie said as Annabelle looked to her and raised an eyebrow at her

"Mum.."

"I know. I know what he has done but you have spent all your life without a dad. Look you don't need to do anything meet him for a hot chocolate and get to know him an hour that's all, okay?" Maddie asked as Annabelle sighed

She knew that she didn't want too but for maddies sake. She agreed

Maddie walked into the coffee shop with Annabelle and looked to her "try and be on your best behaviour" Maddie said

"Why I'm meeting my sperm donor not going for a job interview" Annabelle said

"Belle I swear to god don't test me. He is the reason I had you"

"That would be his sperm you carried me not her"

"Yes well he is your dad and he is going to be your headmaster"

"Your fucking with me right" Annabelle asked as Maddie groaned

"Watch your mouth" she said as Patrick walked over to them

"Madeline...Annabelle...it's good to see you both Again" he said

"Her name is Maddie she hates Madeline and I'm Anna, of belle and I can't say I really seen you before. I have no memory of being a baby then again then was when you got my mum wasn't it" Annabelle said as Maddie groaned

"Belle...behave" Maddie said as Patrick glanced to her

"Why don't we take a seat. I want to talk" he said as Maddie nodded as they sat down. She knew that she felt awkward. She knew all Patrick had done in the past but he was the father of her daughter

"I promised my mum I'd come. I know what you did to her. I know she was fourteen when you seduced her. I know she had me and I know what you hit her when she just had me but I am not going to play the perfect daughter as I am not that" Annabelle said as Patrick looked to her

"I just want to know you Annabelle" he said as she nodded

"Yeah and right now I don't want anyone to know that you're my dad" Annabelle said as Maddie sat back in her seat as she and Patrick held a look

"don't look at me she has your stubborn streak paddy" Maddie said as she took a sip of her drink

Maddie stood walking through the village. Annabelle was off and Maddie just hoped that she was not getting in trouble

"She's a lot like you" Patrick said as he approached Maddie who nodded

"Yes well I don't know if that is entirely a good thing do you remember what I was like at her age"

"Pregnant by me yes" he said as Maddie groaned at the thought

"Don't put that thought in my head" she said as they held a look

"Come for dinner with me I want to talk just the two of us" he said as they held a look as she looked to him and nodded. Maddie knew how their was tension between the two of them still and how it wasn't easy at all

Maddie sat with Patrick in a restaurant "you do realise that this is the first time that you took me out. No sneaking around it's very grown up" Maddie said as she took a sip of her wine as he looked to her and smiled

"We have a fifteen year old daughter Madeline I think we are grown up" he said

"Sometimes I don't think I'm old enough to have her. Sometimes I think she deserves better you said so yourself" Maddie said

"I shouldn't have said those things or touched you. I know what we had and it wasn't healthy but I never meant to hurt you" he said as he reached for her hand as they shared a look

"What do you want from me Patrick?" Maddie asked. She knew how confused they she was over everything

"What I want is what I have wanted for the last fifteen years. I want you and I think that you want me too" he said as she looked to him

"You hurt me Patrick and I don't know if I can go through that" she said as he nodded

"I'm not that man anymore Madeline" he said as the two of them held a look

Maddie had no idea what she was thinking over. She knew her head was a mess when it came to Patrick but she knew that the tension they had it was only a certain amount of time before it lead to something else
