I never understood what it felt like to be in your shoes until I did.

I stopped walking at napapikit ako. I hugged my books tighter and drew a breath before turning around. "Yes?"

"You're from that school, right?" Sabi niya sabay turo sa isang building na kalalabas ko lang.

"Yes. Do you need something?" I smiled. He's blurry.

He stayed silent and just stared at me before glancing at my shoulder. Ano ba sasabihin niya?

I stared back at him. "Do you need something?" I repeated, this time it's louder

He blinked and smiled sheepishly, scratching his chin with his knuckle. "Wala naman, I thought I saw something." Tapos tumawa siya at nilahad ang kamay niya. I took his hand and shook it.

Then he waved at me and walked away.
