7/06/1896: Our Beginning

The pictorial family was known for many things. Their appearance, tall bodies standing over 6', covered in pale vampire-like skin and heads full of pale blue hair. No one knew why their freakish appearance was accepted, but being an important family comes with its perks. Their riches were next. They own a good part of Certis and are well involved in the council. To all, they are a well-respected family for giving to their community and cleaning up the mess other officials have brought.

The pictorials are as pictured. Dr. Arsen, head and father of the family, runs the main (and only real) hospital in this town, standing out from the family with his Auburn hair and tan skin at only 2000 years old. He stands proudly next to his wife, Lady Drape, a tall woman with white pale skin and short pale blue hair ending at her shoulders, (mostly tied up in a militaristic bun) the mother and famously known as the princess of Certis for her unrelated involvement in the old royal family that founded Certis (but of course those are only rumors even if she still calls herself a "Lady").

Next in line we have the Pictorial children, triplets, carbon copies of their mother with their pale white skin and beautiful pale blue hair. First born, Nathaniel Pictorial, tall boy, age of 118, short, mullet-like hair with a small piece of blond in the front, his skin covered in tattoos and a face covered in scars that a mother could only love and piercings that could only disappoint any priest in sight. Second in line, we have what the town calls "the twins", Victor, and Vicky, both having an identical appearance that would make anyone who walked past them shiver in almost disgust. From their clothes to even their hobbies, they were walking mirrors. Victor, 2 seconds behind Nathaniel, (and the most annoying one) sports a short, disheveled hairstyle, badly dyed green with patches of blue everywhere that he claims to be left on purpose. Alongside him we find (always) his sister, the smartest one of the duo, being a second behind Victor, sports long hair that reaches her bottom complimented by her long hourglass figure (that I always envied).

Third in line we have Renata Pictorial or the third "real" child, a mystery, but a myth at most. For those who have been here long, they could probably conjure some sort of story, rather or not it was true I wouldn't know she was long gone by the time I came around. Out of all the Pictorial children who left, she was the first to go. The story goes that she packed her bags and didn't even say goodbye to her family or so they say. Called many names, disappointment, reject, loser, etc., she left this life behind and was never seen again. Many think she's a made-up story. A myth that old folks made to scare kids to stay with their parents until it was their time but whether Ms. Renata was true, is not a tale to be told.

The Pictorial's last child, a devastating tale, Victorian. There's not much to say about his story. As much as the Pictorials have their fame, Victorian's name isn't one that is commonly repeated. A "miracle" child, strapped to a bed and bound to a wheelchair for the rest of his life is all they could say. Victorian, a friend to all, never having much to say...but his mind will forever hold the nightmares of our future.

This town, full of life and what some would call despair, was filled with homes that were filled with my people, and even if it wasn't ideal to most, it would forever be my home.
