"Pardon me.. Do I know you?" the younger inquired politely, his tone showing hints of an English accent. His eyes shone with innocence and genuine care and his body language was open and approachable.
All in all, he was the image of perfection; a model citizen.
And yet, I saw past the false facade and scoffed indignantly.
"I used to hate you." I stated with an irritated eyeroll. Looking back, my only motivation was acceptance and attention: something I didn't need or crave anymore. "I still do."
At my declaration, the boy before me narrowed his eyes at me and let out an awkward, almost sheepish chuckle. It made me cringe outwardly.
"I'm sorry we got off to the wrong foot. I'm Enogawin Renin! May I know how to address you?"
"PFFT.. Call me Mokusei... Also, you're annoying as hell."
"H-huh?-"
