The first day of summer was slow. Easy, calm, and quiet. The rest of it honestly just flew by. The warm days and cool nights slowly came to a stopping point, and I gotta admit, it's kinda disappointing.
Now it's our first day of junior year. The start of school is nothing to be excited about, really. It's more of a bore than anything.
I walk up to the school steps, and although it's familiar, the school feels different. I open the doors and immediately sigh in relief at the sight of all of my fellow classmates. I walk up to somebody from the theater club.
"Hey, Maya," I say with a smile, brushing my long, golden brown hair off of my shoulders. She smiles back and speaks.
"Hey girl! How was your summer?"
"Oh, you know, the usual. Skating, working and just kinda hanging out." I respond, rubbing my neck a little bit. As I go to speak with Maya again, another student cuts me off. I smile and wave, walking away from her and heading to my locker. I sigh, wondering why summer had to end so soon. School is a prison, especially with the athletic guys.
When I say athletic, I mean it. I mean they do three to four sports at the same time. It seriously seems impossible how they juggle all of that work. As I'm thinking about my first few classes of the day, a baseball guy slams into my locker, shoving me with it.
"Aw, sorry, man!" He chuckles sarcastically and continues walking.
"Hey, watch where you're going!" I shriek, my head slamming against the person's locker next to me. Here comes the headache. "Stupid baseball player.." I mutter. Who is he to push me around?
In my first class, I take a seat in the front left of the classroom. I tie my hair into a ponytail and wait for this dreadful class to begin. The same guy from earlier sits down next to me, laughing with his friends. I can tell he gets along with pretty much everyone. He sure as hell doesn't get along with me.
