Elena looked as stunning in this dress as she did in wedding gown, Albert smiled as he walked up to her. He couldn't believe she was his wife because they both fit her so perfectly.

It was like a dream that he would never want to wake up from; it still didn't feel real, didn't feel like this had occurred at all.

"Your Royal Highness," Albert teased Elena as he extended his hand. He was so happy that he didn't believe he could even look away; this was all he had ever known to want.

Elena enjoyed being able to say that he was her husband, so she smiled and took his hand and let him lead her onto the dance floor for their first dance together.

Albert gave Elena a little spin before embracing her, and as the beginning chords played a lovely tune, he grinned down at her, knowing that he would stop at nothing to make her happy.

He never wanted to bring her down or make her regret her decision to live out the remainder of their lives together, even if it was his last act.

"Is this the day you've always wanted?" Albert questioned as he and Elena swayed to the music, and he knew it was everything he had dreamed it would be; no one could ever doubt his dedication to Elena.

Of course, some people would disbelieve them, reject what they had, and wonder why Albert chose to marry Elena, but Albert would never let them take what they had.

"No, it's fantastic." Elena leaned forward to give Albert a kiss. She felt that something would go wrong and ruin their engagement, so he had not expected the day to go as well as it did.

That everything seemed too good to be true, and that because of the errors and deeds of others, she would be cheated out of the life she truly desired.

Albert said in a whisper, "I'm glad," as he gave her another spin and drew her back to him. He had never imagined that he would be the kind to settle down; as a young adolescent, he had planned never to get married because he was afraid of experiencing what his mother had while she was married to his father.

However, it appeared that all he needed was the proper person to enter his life and reveal to him what was lacking—Elena was the one he wanted to live all his days with.

They had discussed their ideal wedding style at William and Catherine's wedding a little over two years prior, so it was difficult for them to see being there today.

"Is it everything you wanted it to be?" Elena questioned; she did hope so, and he realized that their wedding would be the talk of the day; she hadn't kept up with the chatter and wasn't planning to look until after her honeymoon.

Albert chuckled and nodded, not caring how they had tied the knot—he would have gladly travelled somewhere to marry Elena if that was her wish.

He was happy that he and Elena were now husband and wife, regardless of how or when it had occurred.

Albert stated, "Better, I get to call you my wife now," with no trace of worry. He was happy that it was all over and that he could go back to being invisible if he so desired.

The idea that the entire world had witnessed him marry the woman he loved and had celebrated their union as though Albert and Elena were family members was a little eerie.

As the song gradually drew to an end, Albert became aware that the fireworks would soon begin, that they would soon depart for their honeymoon, which would take place in the Maldives for a month.

While Albert had cleared his schedule to spend time with Elena before returning to his royal duties, one would be expecting them back any time soon.

"May I?" As Victor walked up to the pair, Albert nodded and moved aside to make room for his father-in-law to dance with his daughter.

As they danced to the next song, Elena beamed at her father. He appeared to be deep in contemplation, and she could only speculate as to what was going through his head at the moment.

Elena put a kiss on her father's face, beaming knowing that no matter what occurred in her life, her father would always be there to support her.

Elena and Victor were dancing when the sounds of fireworks disrupted the melody, and the people began to move outside. They just stared at each other.

Holding Elena's hand, Albert guided her into the gardens to witness the fireworks display. They cuddled up close, gazing up at the vibrant hues filling the sky.

The chilly summer night air did little to discourage their friends from joining them as they watched the fireworks together, the two of them enjoying the sight and one other's company without uttering a word.

"How do you feel? "Will we lead happy, fulfilled lives?" As they stood side by side, Elena requested, putting her arm around Albert's waist.

He grinned at her statement, his arm resting on her shoulder, and he really believed they could live happily ever after.

"Not at all. We'll remain content longer than that, in my opinion." Albert grinned and leaned in to give his wife a kiss on the lips as he turned to glance at her.
