It was hot and he was shivering. His ears rang like alarms, his body felt so tight and weak. He could hear the alarms of the fire system going off, he could feel water spraying down on his body, soaking through his clothing and soaking the floors. He barely cracked his eyes open, the air was thick with smoke, not like it mattered, he could hardly breathe with the pressure of his skin so tight. One of his eyes was bleary, vision swimming with red that he couldn't even try to place in his delirium. He noticed the heap of brown hair beside him, sprawled out. White clothing stained red and charred, some edges still red hot as the water worked to cool it off.He reached out weakly, body screaming in agony. His boy-his Luca- was hurt, and not moving. Alva's heart beat weakly in his chest, breaths heaving despite the agonizing pain of each as he weakly grasped Luca's shoulder. He couldn't begin to speak, he could tell he was dying. He had stopped the blow from hitting Luca, he'd noticed the sparks, quickly shoving Luca back to shield him the best he could. Luca's grasp on the cable beforehand had ensured he'd be injured but if Alva could help it; no debris would impale him. The older man stretched, a weak cry leaving his mouth at how taught his skin felt, a piece of metal lodged into his back between his ribs. He panted out, shaking the brunette and letting out a painful sob.He could feel himself becoming woozy, blood loss, and a shutdown of bodily function due to the later stages of shock; he wasn't stupid. He'd gone to school, not medical but he'd known the risks. He let out weak gasps and cries, dragging himself to his boy in agonizing pulls, wrapping his arms around his student tightly. He could feel Luca's breath, feel the warmth and the sticky sappy blood left over from the skin melting off his hands and his back from the severity of the electrocution.
Alva knew he was no better, one glance down at how he was holding his boy and he could see his hands, at least half of one was a gooey resemblance of his palm and fingers, the skin ripped away in his attempts to be closer to his darling boy. His prized student, a beloved son. He let out another shuddering sob, his back was throbbing, and his face was tight. He swallowed several times between sniffles, hearing sirens approaching. If he could just hold on, he had a hope that his beloved boy would be okay. "Lukas," He croaked, sniffling and trying to hold back more sobs. His tears stung the wounds on his face, mixing with blood in a way that had him gritting his teeth. He wouldn't make it, he wouldn't make it to know if his son would make it truly. Alva could only hope he protected him well enough, enough that his beloved could be stabilized and healed, even if unconscious. Alva hoped he'd stay unconscious for a little, the thought of his boy crying at his burial made him sob harder, bending at the neck, listening to the crackle of his singed clothing and burnt skin and flesh, pressing his face into Luca's hair and sobbing. Each hitch of his breath and gasp and wail left him burning, heart working overtime and pouring blood, staining the remainder of the white and brown of Luca's outfit, Alva's own turning a sickly magenta-purple. He slid his palm up Luca's shoulder, pressing his lips to his forehead half-heartedly as he sniffled. The sirens were closer, and Alva could feel himself slowing down, taking gasping breaths to try and prolong it. His tears continued to pour into the brunette's hair, the pain in his body slowly subsiding. He felt lighter, little by little. He was dying, he knew. Electrocution was no joke, an electrical fire burnt hotter than anything else.
He mouthed words against the brunette's scalp, eyes fluttering slightly as his breathing hitched. He saw a small figure in the window, yellow eyes staring down at him, a cat leaping down and slowly stalking. His vision blurred, a few more tears cascading down his face as he felt his muscles relax, exhaling one last final breath against his boy's scalp before he let himself succumb to the welcoming dark and whispers.
