Hi👋
My name is Rugaya Borrins and I decided to write this story one day when I was thinking of what it would be like to go to a prestigious University myself.
Cinderella said;"To dream is a wish"
This story is an attempt to encapsulate those feelings.
For me this story became a good way to put myself into the narrative and dream. I hope you also get to the same as you follow Sureyya.
That we dream and come to an understanding of what it must be like to be in such an environment.
We've all had that fantasy of getting into the Ivy League and being the smartest,most hard working student. It's more than just a distant dream for some. I'm speaking of the Rory Gilmore coded girls.
Those who feel that they have to do well in order to succeed. That they're close to success.
Now I hope you can come to appreciate Sureyya's story of growth, experimentation and adventure in a new environment.
As well as getting to know her struggles,love life and friends.
Probably most importantly her friends..
In this book I want to explore themes of;
What it is like to be focused on your academics and how that can impact your self esteem,sense of self discovery and efficacy.
The characters sometimes even end dealing with the occasional panic attacks and nervous breakdowns,which is common in those who put alot of academic strain on themselves.
Not only that but they have to learn to build good friendships in their twenties and how to handle relationship struggles and exploring dating.
This book is set in a very competitive University environment,but also occasionally flashes back to what it was like for these students in highschool.
Thus there is alot of room for self exploration and growth.
Both in their personal and academic lives.
The book has alot of side plot which helps us to understand the lives of the students at this school. It's a very diverse narrative,with lots of perspectives,themes and ways of learning and growing from one another's life experience.
Sureyya is focused on her academics and yet still finds the time to make healthy friendships, has the potential to fall in love and build herself a future.
While writing this book I'm hoping to learn alongside the reader what it is like to be in such a setting of academic challenges,bullying and having to reach a standard of perfection in your work.
As well as finding romantic and platonic love.
I want to learn it must be like and write about it.
