Carrie was taken away and hidden somewhere, but to her all it was, was a small four walled room. She felt helpless, bored sad, foolish, etc. She was close to turning off her emotions but she decided not to give in to his cruel torture, and to go on. When she pressed against the wall she realised who's voice she heard right away and was shocked to hear it as well.
