Taeyong laughed nervously, his brown eyes taking one orbit around his room as he thought — doesn't grim mean something that was inexplicably vile? — he felt so stupid right now. The boy at least knew that was the name linked to that one reaper dude that takes souls to heaven or hell. Just that thought made him feel sick.

snoopy : I don't know. It's probably the worst place to be for a young girl

snoopy : it's okay. The dark web isn't as scary as people make it out to be. The most disturbing thing I've come across is pedo websites, which is why I said the thing about the girl above.

snoopy : well I'm sure you got the warning but there's hackers and trolls popping shit up on the screen. It's not all the time tho. I think they put a scheduler, so it pops up every night at 3 AM. Typical, I know. But we can't figure out how to remove the malware since it's the dark web and everything is anonymous, it's pretty impossible.

Snoopy and Nana had to explain basically everything, from the urls to wane away from to the dark web's own financial system and black markets. Yeah, the damned place has its own money. It's called bitcoin, abbreviated by Nana as 'bit'. Apparently that way you can buy things on the Silk Road black market and other places without being traced, because you know, most of the things sold on there are illegal.

The other thing that Nana mentioned was a red room. To Taeyong's absolute horror, they were timed live webcams that showcased people either getting tortured or murdered. Not only was it live, there was an active chat participating in the murder of whoever was being filmed. You had to pay massive amounts of bitcoin to become involved in one, and even more to tell the murderer what to do to the victim. That made Taeyong's stomach wretch — sick fucks really wanted to become involved in the hurt of another human being? He couldn't believe it.

Snoopy comforted him by informing that most red rooms were fake, because people liked to freak others out and thankfully the FBI kept a close eye on the dark web. Apparently he knew that because another user called @xuixuizee spent most of their time on the dark web looking for one and they only ever found one that was real, but the murder wasn't scheduled until a month later. But they did have enough bitcoin to pay to get in, so he'll see what it's all about in a month.

What good news.

Taeyong did ask why they wanted to find one and all Snoopy answered with was, "I don't know, they're notoriously stupid."

The dark web was a lot more complex than Taeyong thought, and honestly that idea was terrifying. It was like the evil masked behind the surface web, and Taeyong was caught beneath the iceberg without any life jacket or weapons to save him. There was so much sick shit on here, like pedophile rings and tapes of the US army killing enemies across seas. Nobody really knows anybody, and this book club is one of the few communities that are actually associated with each other. Taeyong didn't intend on talking to anyone else but the members of this place, just because he was too scared.

Taeyong wanted to know a lot more about Snoopy and Nana, so he asked them if they participated in any of the illegal activities on here. Nana said no, that they were pretty young and was just curious about the dark web and liked the mysterious nature of it all. They were also pretty interested in hacking and supposedly you can't get many secrets about that on surface web. They also found it pretty cool to tell their friends that they'd been on the dark web, like they were some sort of war veteran. Taeyong suspected that Nana was still in high school, although they didn't explicitly say so. It was pretty obvious just by their morals and the way they talked.

Snoopy mentioned something about seeing those 'dark web mystery boxes' on YouTube, so they bought one just because they were interested. Taeyong asked what was in it, and Snoopy said, "Nothing much. Just a knitted blanket and letters from someone in the hospital. I regret spending so much money and time looking for one."

Overall, Nana and Snoopy didn't seem too bad yet. They chatted for about an hour until the clock was two thirty in the morning. Nana said that the pop up would hit at three and that it was in their best interest to leave. They also noted that Taeyong shouldn't keep the Tor browser running overnight on any URL or else he might be more vulnerable to hackers floating around.

Taeyong felt a little unnerved once he closed Tor after leaving the sight. He began to feel more comfortable talking to the pair, but now he was alone in his dark dorm room with no one to talk to to distract whatever was going on up inside his head. He tried his best to shake the feeling off and climbed inside his bed to watch YouTube to fall asleep, but even seeing his computer in the corner of his eye made him shudder.

You best believe he slept with his head underneath the covers that night.
