sometimes when I reach out or reconnect with people, I feel as if I'm forcefully turning myself around, fighting my pride and outstretching my arm and grasping at a handful of rocks and shards of glass, leaving small cuts and scrapes against my knuckles and palm, bleeding until the last drop of blood drains from my longing heart.
