After Adam and I enjoyed a nice little buzz together, the intercom in his room came to life. "Mr. Levine, your ex-wife and son are here to see you. You don't have very long; hurry down if you want to see them." The voice spoke before it went back to its mute state.
I watched a smile spread across Adam's drug-worn face with each word coming from the monitor. By the looks of it, it'd been a long time since he had seen his son.
"I'm sorry to cut our boozing short, but I have to go! I haven't seen Noah in three months!" Adam shouted excitedly before tossing a mint into his mouth and checking himself in the mirror. "Do I look okay? You think he'll still remember me?"
"You look fine, and of course he'll remember you. You're his dad. You're just on a little vacation," I said with a smile as I stood up.
"See you at dinner tonight? I sit in the right-hand row, three rows up from the cafeteria line," He said looking at me from his reflection in the mirror.
"I'll see you there, sissy," I said with a wink before I strolled out of his room and down into my living wing. I unlocked the mahogany door marked with Romee in pink letters.
When I entered my room, I sat on the pink-splotched bed sheets and retrieved my journal from the small nightstand next to the bed frame.
Met a sissy asshole today, known to the world as Adam Levine. He isn't as bad as I expected him to be. I was shocked to find out he'd been in here at least three months. He must've been reliant on alcohol and weed to soothe the pain of his lost love.
I think I've found a companion in him, but I can't get too attached. If he gets out before I do, I'll be broken. If I got out before him, I'd be forced to come back to this awful place to visit him. And I can't get in the middle of whatever issues he has with Miss Ex-model. I especially can't take on partial mothership of a toddler.
I'm getting way too ahead of myself. He's much older than I, thirteen years to the exact day I came to find out, and he has a messy past. Then again, I do too; but he'll never know about that. My past is going to stay hidden from everyone around me, especially him.

I walked out to the visitation room and saw the dark hair matching mine, and his mother's hazel eyes, more green than brown. He looked confused, and she looked pained.
I entered the room, and my eyes met hers. I knew that pained look, I had seen it after each failed pregnancy test before the one positive, Noah.
I sat down across from her, knowing this was not the time for affection. "Behati, how are you? What's wrong? Is everything okay? Is Noah okay?" I spat out quickly, needing to know the cause of her sadness. She was my ex-wife, but she was still the mother of my son.
"Adam, I'm pregnant." I swallowed hard and looked down at her abdomen. It seemed to be protruding a bit, and I noticed Noah was sitting further forward on her lap. That wasn't a newly pregnant belly.
"T-the baby is mine, isn't it?" I stuttered. It was unbelievable. Just when I thought I'd escaped Behati and was able to move on after life here, I was sucked back in by my own horniness the day our divorce was finalized.
"She is, and she'll be here in five months. You better be out, or you'll never see her or Noah ever again. It was awful enough sharing custody of one child, now we have to share two. You better be getting your head on straight in here, Adam. Noah needs his father around, and now Jade will too."
"Jade? Did you name her already?" I asked as I peered at her stomach just beyond Noah. I couldn't believe this. I almost wanted to ask Romee to punch me in the crotch again until it was dysfunctional.
"Yes, her name is Jade. Noah picked it out. He said it would be a very pretty name for his baby sister," She said with a smile as she smoothed down his dark hair.
"Jade in mommy!" Noah exclaimed as he turned and hugged his sister's home for the past four months. The home Adam hoped would never house a child sharing his DNA ever again.
"I see that, buddy. You have to be good for mommy, okay? Daddy will be home soon. Until then, I'm counting on you to be a good boy."
"I be dooood!" Noah shouted before hopping off his mom's lap and running to me. He wrapped his arms around my leg and hugged it tight. "I dood fo mommy, I pwomise," He said. I couldn't help but smile at his cuteness.
I scooped him up onto my lap and hugged him tight. There were no words for how much I regretted letting myself get bad enough to come here. I had missed three months of my son's life, and I couldn't be that way for my daughter too.
I looked up at Behati, and I saw her shed a small smile Noah's way. "I'm gonna work hard to get out of here, Bee. I'm going to be home soon, and we can work all of this out. I'm going to be a better dad this time around. I want to be around for their entire lives. I want to watch my kids grow up."
"Work hard, and we'll see about you coming home. Part of me might be soft enough to take you back."
