Third person

Rain fell hard today in the small town of Savual Heights.

Herds of teenagers swarmed the school hall, damp from the storm.

A group of girls single filed through the main doors as the first bell pierced the intercom.

The tallest one was Sloane Bennet, captain of her school's volleyball team. They won the state championships last year, despite Sloane's party habits and boyfriend drama.

Next to Sloane was Mara Calloway. Quiet girl, always trying to stay on the outskirts, always dragged into the light by her friends. She's an artist, loves painting. Her piece was submitted last semester at a National Youth Competition, she won second place. No matter how much she protested, the school still framed it in the ceramic room.

Then there was Delaney Mercer, Lane to her friends. A lot of the students say she talks too much, and most of it doesn't have quality. She's never been into extracurricular's if it didn't involve cheering Sloane on at a game, or rooting for Mara to get a medal.

The three have been friends for years, and in all luck, they got home room together. Once the second week of school struck, they were no longer excited.

"Do you think he's wasted..?" Mara whispered to Lane while they place their belongings at their unassigned-assigned table.

Delaney turned to see Gray Cullen with his foot propped on a desk, bopping his head to the music bleeding through his earbuds.

"When is he ever sober?" she scoffed. "What's the point of using headphones if your music is loud enough for everyone to hear anyway?"

In the midst of passing period, in walked Louis, Delaney's boyfriend, with a sour expression on his face as he approached the girls.

"Oh, great," Sloane warned just before Louis took a spot next to Lane.

Lane looked at the boy. "It was one party Louis, you can't attend all of them."

Louis glared back. "The only reason I couldn't get in was because CULLEN," he shouts toward Gray, "told the owner that I'm a thief."

Mara stifling a laugh caused the boy to scoff and storm out of the room, leaving his bag slouched against Delaney's legs.

"Seriously," Sloane grabs the girls attention, "I don't know what you see in him, Lane."

In the hall, Louis shoulder checked a much older looking guy. He stood taller, with a more muscular figure than Louis, but he was new, and not much of a fighter, so the boy ignored it.

"Two-O-six..." the boy spoke lowly to himself.  "Ah, here," he smiled.

As he walked in, he was met with his twin sister, Flores, sitting at one of the only two single desks in the back of the room.

"Forest?" she gawked at the sight of him. She gave a soft smile, which was returned with a cold shoulder.

He had no room for past mistakes, and his sister was the biggest one. "Is this seat free?" Forest interjected, pointing towards Louis seat.

"It is now!" Sloane cheered, nudging at Lane to scoot over.

The boy laughed awkwardly, beginning to untangle his headphones when the girl to his immediate left asked, "And you are?"
