Jungkook was asleep when he heard the door unlocking and his wolf perked up immediately. Years of being on alert during the nights because of their weak door has trained Jungkook to wake up upon hearing the slightest sound.

However, a wave of evergreen pine, thyme and sage wafted over to him. He was up instantly, a sleepy smile lighting his features as he rolled to his right side, glancing eagerly at the door that opened to reveal the silhouette of his alpha.

The lights in the corridor illuminated him. He could tell the alpha was balancing a lot of things in one hand and carrying two bags in the other.

Jungkook's heart swelled with warmth at the sight of his alpha, who had returned from work. The alpha's presence always brought a sense of security and contentment to Jungkook, easing any lingering tension from the day.

Jungkook didn't bother to get up though. He kicked off the sheets as the alpha approached the bed with the items in his hand. He carefully laid out the items at the foot of the bed and climbed on the bed to hug the omega.

The alpha sank into his embrace. He felt the warmth of his body and his scent enveloped him. Peace. The omega inhaled his scent deeper and let out a soft hum. The tension melted away in Jimin's mere presence.

"How was your day? Is the injured worker alright?"

"Mhmm...Too long and stressful. It's all sorted out. He's recovering. I came directly as soon the work ended. I couldn't wait to be in your arms." He nuzzled into his neck. "Gosh I missed you so much." His embrace tightened around him.

Jungkook sighed, wrapping one leg around the alpha's hip and hugging him tighter. "What time is it?"

"Eight-thirty," Jimin said. "You're sleeping. Are you sick?" He felt a cold hand touching his forehead. "Do you have a headache?" He began to rub his temples.

Jungkook shook his head, protesting when Jimin lifted his body. Too far for his liking. "Your mom stopped by. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed so I thought I would just sleep it off."

"I heard." Jimin rested his forehead against his. "Dad texted me and I also talked to mom earlier. She didn't give you a hard time, did she?"

Jungkook could sense the concern in Jimin's voice, even as he tried to play it cool. He appreciated the way Jimin always seemed to understand him without needing to say much. With a small smile, Jungkook gently touched Jimin's cheek, his thumb tracing the alpha's jawline.

"No. It was all good." He smiled. "I mean...I expected her to yell at me at least but she was cool about it."

Jimin nodded. His eyes softened, relieved by the omega's words. "I brought your favorite." He kissed his neck one more time. "And I also got some ice cream and cheese cake."

Jungkook chuckled upon hearing that. "Did you think I wasn't handling this well?" Jimin's thoughtful actions spoke volumes, reassuring Jungkook that he was not alone in facing any challenges that came their way.

Jimin shrugged. "Mom can easily overwhelm someone when she meets them for the first time. I figured whether or not you're stressed, you could use some ice cream after powering through a day like that." Running a gentle hand through Jungkook's hair, he whispered softly, "How about we eat dinner first and you tell me all about your day."

Jungkook nodded, his stomach rumbling as if on cue. Both chuckled at that.

"Did you skip lunch, angel? I'm sorry I couldn't check on you during the day."

"I wasn't hungry," he mumbled. "I didn't even realize I skipped it."

Jimin leaned in, pressing a tender kiss to Jungkook's forehead. "Come on, my love. Food is waiting and your alpha is famished."
