Ivan stood, stunned.
"Iris? Iris? IRIS! Please wake up, this isn't a joke. I'm sorry for being rude. Please forgive me, please wake up!" Ivan pleaded desperately. Patting her cheeks to try and wake her up
"Iris, wake up, please! No, no, this can't be happening." Tears welled up in Ivan's eyes.
He swiftly picked up Iris and dashed back into the hospital towards the emergency room. A nurse spotted them and hurried over.
Nurse: "What happened?"
Ivan: "She started coughing blood and fainted. I don't know what happened."
Nurse: "Code blue! We need some help here, stat!"
A group of nurses and two doctors arrived, placed Iris on a stretcher, and rushed her to the emergency room.
Meanwhile, Ivan paced back and forth outside, his parents seated nearby. Ivan's mother noticed the deep worry written on his face, understanding that her actions in making them break up may have been a mistake She only wanted to shield him from harm but in doing so she only hurt him more, fearing the loss of another child.
Shortly after, Stella arrived with Iris's mother and took a seat next to Ivan's parents.
After a long hour, the doctor came out.
Doctor: "Who is Miss Iris's guardian?"
Iris's mother: "I am her mother."
Doctor: "Iris had a tumor behind her lungs, but luckily, we managed to take it out."
Iris's mom hugged the doctor tightly.
"I can't thank you enough for saving my baby. She's all I have left. Thank you, thank you," she said with tears in her eyes.
The doctor smiled, "It was my pleasure. She'll be okay in a week. It's not as bad as we thought."
Ivan, who was standing beside, let out a sigh of relief.
Doctor: "You can all see her now, but only two people at a time, please. We don't want her to get sick."
Iris's mom and Stella went into the room first. Ivan sat beside his mom as he was still getting better too.
Ivan's mom stayed quiet, lost in thought the whole time. Ivan's dad went to get coffee for them.
Iris,mom and Stella came out of her room . Stella looked at Ivan gesturing him to go inside
Ivan nodded his head and entered Iris's room.
Stella took Iris's mom back to her house since she's old and unwell.
In Iris's room:
Ivan stepped inside, finding Iris seated by the window, gazing outside.
"Iris?" Ivan called softly.
Turning her head, Iris smiled, "Hi! How are you?"
"I'm okay. And you?" Ivan replied.
"I'm fine, don't worry," Iris assured him.
Taking a seat beside her, Ivan felt a wave of comfort. Iris opened her arms for a hug, Ivan gladly accepted, wrapping his arms around her in a warm embrace, expressing his support and care.
As time went by, Ivan and Iris took care of each other, making their relationship stronger each day. They hadn't officially become a couple yet because they wanted to make sure they both were ready. Ivan's mom also apologized for making them break up.
While Iris was in the hospital recovering , Ivan was discharged and started working on a really special project
2 weeks later, Iris was discharged form the hospital and started staying with Ivan at his apartment.
