Dear Moon,

It is pitch black, and your light is nowhere to be found. I search for your luminescence only to find that it has been stolen by the universe that I sometimes swear tries to swallow you whole. For once, I stare up at your crestfallen face and see the glow tremble and your shine flicker. For once, I see your moonbeams falter and your light wane as your face disappears into the darkness. It isn't long until the stars lose their twinkle and the Earth its vitality as you fade into the shadows. Still, you are as bright as ever to me as your sheen loses its luster. The craters on your surface ever more prominent, as your gleam slowly darkens to match the midnight sky. I understand that you are haunted as clouds veil you from my vision, obscuring your insecurities. You try to hide, conceal all that you deem unpretty, but I can still see you clearly. I've seen your dark side, and you're perfectly imperfect to me.

Love,

Flawlessly Flawed
