The music seemed too loud. David was on the roof. The cool wind billowing his dark hair. He could still feel the ground beneath his feet throb. The muffled sounds of people and the music were barely audible, compared to the voices inside his head.

" You shouldn't be here alone.....but to be honest, this is kinda nice." said a voice behind him.

He knew that voice really well. And he also loved it. It was bright, playful and almost childishly loud. Just like its owner. Allister Frost.....

David turned around to look at him. His vision wasn't that clear. He was just starting to feel the effect of the three beers and two martinis he had drunk.

Allister walked towards him, hands stuffed in his pockets. He was smiling in that pure, innocent, soft way that was his alone.

"You really do like hanging around the corners, don't you?" he said.

"No one likes to hang around the corners by themselves." David replied.

Allister rested his elbows in the railing and took a deep breath. " Well then, It's good you think that. I am here to give you company."

David smiled at that.

Allister's  smile faded away slowly and subtly. He had that expression which he had while solving Trigonometry problems. Focused, calm and serious.

" Do you believe in love?" he asked David suddenly.

" I don't know....but was that a hypothetical question?" David said.

"Depends...." Allister let his voice trail away.
