Phil POV

"Boarding school?!" I exclaim. "You're shipping me off to some fancy academy because they offered a free scholarship?!"

"I know how you feel about being away from home, but Edison Academy offers the best education for you, it's for your own good, Philip," my mother says soothingly.

"Besides, I'm sure you'll make lots of friends there," adds my father.

"Doubt it," I say, "you see, being rich like they are, the students will most likely consider themselves superior to a common person like me, so they'll probably just ignore me."

My mother smiles. "I'm sure that's not the case. You'll be fine, don't worry about it."

"Yeah, they definitely won't ignore you. More likely, they'll take one look at you and think you're a servant. I'm willing to be money that on the first day at least three students will order you to get them coffee or tea or something," teases my brother.

"Shut up, I'm already nervous enough," I say.

"You'll be leaving for London in a week, so enjoy your final days of summer," my dad says.

I go up to my room and sit down on the bed. I sigh. In one week I'll be on my way to a boarding school for the richest of the rich. I knew I wasn't going to make friends. I never could, not even at a normal school with middle-class kids like me.

Dan POV

One week later

I run up to the train station in front of me. There it is, the train that'll take me to Edison Academy. It'll be my first year and I'm practically bouncing up and down with excitement. Composure Daniel, it's not dignified to be jumping around like a young child. my fathers words echo in my mind.

I step onto the train with nothing but my cellphone and a small suitcase. I go to the last car, the only place where there are seats, and sit down across from a boy with black hair and blue-green eyes. He had a light blue t-shirt and black skinny jeans. On his head is a hat in the shape of a lion. He's obviously a commoner. "Excuse me," I say.

"Yeah?" He replies quietly.

"I think you've got the wrong train, this one goes to Edison Academy," I say politely.

"I know, I've got a scholarship," he says.

"Oh, my bad," I appologize, "what's you're name, anyway?"

"Philip Lester. Everybody just calls me Phil." He says.

"I'm Daniel Howell, but everyone calls me Dan," I say.

He smiles and holds out his hand. "Well, it's nice to meet you, Dan."

I shake his hand, flashing him my own smile. "You too, Phil."

A/N okay this is short, probably really boring, but whatevs, it gets better, don't worry.
