5. Twisted by memories

This is probably the first time Gojo sets his foot past the entrance to academic building while being at Kyoto faculty. This school looks more traditional compared to Tokyo, smaller too, but the atmosphere and surrounding are undeniably much more pleasing

Shall he consider transferring here?

"Now, which path should I take?"

Gojo marches down the hallway aimlessly, looking for the principal's office. The school is rather quiet and he hasn't spotted a single soul wandering to ask for direction. Hence Gojo only keeps walking to where his feet take him to

"That's all for today, you can dismiss to recess"

Gojo hears cheers coming from the classroom at the end of the corridor

"That voice...", for a moment, Gojo thinks he is hallucinating

"Sensei, your tummy is getting bigger!", someone shrieks

"Are you sure it's not going to pop off?"

A burst of familiar laughter catches his ears, putting a stop to Gojo's feet. He stands quietly at the hind door, staring through the gaps or the translucent window at the female teacher standing in front of the classroom

The same miko outfit, raven hair, big, beautiful scar on her face, and recognisable cursed energy; abnormally stronger but Gojo can still tell that it's her

Of course Gojo knows she is here all along, he just doesn't look forward to seeing her like this

Utahime's face wrinkles from the slight pain she feels when she laughs. "I'm fine, everyone. Don't panic"

"Can I touch your tummy?", Miwa holds her hands out towards Utahime's noticeable belly

For a moment, she is hesitant. Utahime doesn't usually let anyone touch her, especially after the incident with higher-ups, she has become more guarded. But these are her students whom she trusts hers and her baby's life with

"Yes, you can"

"I want too!", Momo runs up to Utahime this time

Everyone else also move to the front of the class, surrounding Utahime in a circle

"Whoa, there is really a baby inside", Miwa exclaims as soon as her hand touches the swell

"I know right? This is amazing. I can feel a strong cursed energy"

Since Utahime came to Kyoto a little 7 months ago, she was nervous to meet and teach the students she didn't know. She was afraid they would not get along

But her students all had been very kind, helpful and accepting of her. They know about her pregnancy a bit later, but they never come to ask about the father, nor did they ever interested to know. It makes Utahime feel somewhat safe

"Sensei, is it a boy or a girl?", Mai asks

"Please be a girl, please be a girl"

Utahime softly laughs. "It's a boy", she says

"Yes!", Todo cheers. "What did I tell you? I told you it's a boy!"

"Ah, damn it", Kamo hisses and hands over ¥1000 to Todo

"Noooo! I bought something pink for the baby", Miwa pouts

"Just keep it for her second baby", Mechamaru adds

Miwa blinks. "Oh, is she planning to have another?"

Mechamaru shrugs. "We never know"

"Alright,", Utahime claps her hands once. "All of you better leave for recess now or you will be late for evening class. I'll see you tomorrow"
