                                       (Lavender)

The wait was finally over, and I was no longer closed inside the orphanage. It was the beginning of September, which means going back to my favorite place. Hogwarts.

Living at the same orphanage almost my entire life: Heaven's orphanage. Sadly, i got sent to the orphanage every summer break and ive been living at the orphanage for as long as I can remember.

My parents died when i was 3 years old. And I still don't fully know what happend to my parents, I've only been told that they died because of a "no case of death" reason, which i never will face.

I might have been 3 when they passed, but my parents were not people that would just disappear, they loved me more than anything. And those close to them, knew how important i was.

However, living in an orphanage was not without its challenges. The absence of a permanent family left an indelible mark on each child's heart.

I have always been the quiet one, the girl who prefers the company of her own thoughts over the noise of a crowded room. While others thrived in social settings, I found solace in the pages of a book or the strokes of a paintbrush.

I have a few friends back at Hogwarts, but apart from that I don't. I'm pretty alone. Valerie (val) Grimshaw is my closest friend, and when I mean closest, I mean the one I always could count on.

We meet during our first year at Hogwarts and just like I've just said, I was more of the shy kid. But Val was the only one to really invite me in even tho I was shy. She made me feel like I was worth something, especially when it was hard for me to socialize with people since it was just a few years since my parents died, and yes I was getting over it. But the whole orphanage thing was quite hard for me, especially at such a young age. I was just a child. A child without that fairytale childhood. Val was the opposite, she lived happily with her family, a true fairytale.

As the Hogwarts Express chugged along the tracks, I couldn't contain my excitement. It had been a long summer, and I couldn't wait to be back at Hogwarts. The train rattled and swayed. While the other students engaged in boisterous conversations and sought attention, were my thoughts consumed by the adventures that awaited me in my 5th year.

As the train approached Hogsmeade Station, I gathered my belongings and made my way to the exit. The moment I stepped off the train, the familiar sights and sounds of the wizarding world enveloped me. The cool breeze carried the scent of magic and anticipation.

I spotted my best friend, Valerie waiting for me on the platform. We exchanged hugs and quickly caught up on our summer adventures. As we made our way to the carriages pulled by Thestrals, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia. Hogwarts truly felt like home.

As I passed the crudely lit corridors of the castle, my hair cascaded behind and the familiar smell of home, rushed through my brain. The castle, bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun, stood tall and majestic as we approached as always.

The Great Hall welcomed us with open doors. As we settled into our seats at the table, the buzz of excitement filled the air.

Professor McGonagall stood up and addressed the students, welcoming us back and reminding us of the importance of unity and resilience in the face of dark times, like usual.

As the Sorting Ceremony began, I watched the first-year students nervously await their turn. Memories of my own Sorting flooded back, and I couldn't help but feel a surge of pride for being a part of such a magical place.  5 years ago, I was standing there just like them, probably just as nervous as them to.

Dinner was served, and the conversations around me were filled with anticipation for the new school year.

After the dinner, we made our way to the Slytherin common room. The cozy fireplace crackled, the comfortable leather armchairs and book-filled shelves. It felt good to be back in familiar surroundings again.

As i stepped into my dorm again the scent of my dorm, and just as a sense of calmness tingled down my spine. I looked around the room, it was just like i left it.

The dorm room is a reflection of my personality and interests. Posters of my favorite books and authors adorn the walls. A small desk is cluttered with notebooks, pens, and bookmarks, evidence of my love for writing, studying and capturing my own thoughts.

I placed my bag on my chair, as i walked over to my bed and sat down, I took a quick glance out my small window, to see the evening sun shining, and just like that a small smile appeared on my face. I was finally back.

As I laid in my bed, the excitement of the day slowly gave way to a sense of purpose. I knew that this year would be different, filled with new discoveries and challenges. But with every challenge came the opportunity for growth, and I was ready to embrace it all.

I stood up again and moved over to my desk, as i grabbed my favorite book out of my drawer.

Reading is my favorite activity to do in my spare time, and I can't even count how many books I've read during this summer break.

I was just about to change the chapter of my book as my phone buzzed on the night desk. I placed the book besides me, and grabbed my phone. Reveling a message.

𝗨𝗻𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗻:

"You look beautiful" the message said making my eyebrows raise, and a gasp of confusion rushed trough my body.

"I think you messaged the wrong person" i wrote back. It didn't take long before a new message came.

"Lavender" He wrote. I was confused, this must've been some kind of misunderstanding.

My mind raced with questions as I tried to analyze the situation. Was it a prank? Or could it be someone who genuinely wanted something from me? I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that settled in the pit of my stomach. It might be Valerie? But she wouldn't do such a thing.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"That's not important" he wrote. "You look beautiful laying in your bed like that, what book do you read?" My pulse quickened, and a mixture of curiosity and unease was coursing through my veins.

"What?" I wrote back.

"Don't be afraid, Lavender" He wrote making my pulse quickened even more than it already had. And by that, i dropped my phone in the bed.

I looked around my dorm, before I walked over and closed the window with my curtains, once it was closed I rushed back to my bed again.

A shiver run down my spine as I grabbed my book again, and continued to read...
