Josh Matthews had looked at Maya who was busy playing with his nephew and girlfriend. The years have certainly moved on fast and now Auggie was nearly nine years old. With that in consideration, Maya was now 17 years old and Josh hadn't gotten the opportunity to truly tell her how he feels. Stating still that she's too young, he has began believing the lie himself.

When Josh and Maya had met back when she was 13 and he was 16, Josh had said that she was too young. And at the time a relationship with her wasn't completely in Josh's mind. At the time he had his own girlfriend, and was very happy with his life. But as time had gone past, and even he had to admit this, Maya has became very grown-up to him.

Breaking off his relationship with his girlfriend in Philadelphia when he had started his senior year of high school it had came to him that nothing mattered at that stage. He wanted to do good in school so he could come and study for a doctor. And although he made people believe otherwise, he had fallen in love with Maya when he had came to New York for Christmas, one year after they had met.

The young girl was then in high school and nearly 15 years old, making him think a relationship wouldn't be that bad of an idea. But he didn't want Maya to be his rebound from his relationship with Ashley. So he had left it. Now nearly 3 years later his feelings have grown so much, he had trouble hiding them.

"Boing!" Maya said as Josh shook his head and looked at the blonde girl.

"Are you okay? You seemed gone for a second," Maya said as Josh had nodded.

"I should be the one who worries about the 4 of you," Josh said motioning towards Maya, Riley, Auggie and Ava.

"But yes. I'm fine," Josh said as Maya nodded and continued talking to Riley.

Maya had looked out at the situation she was currently in. She was a young girl who had yearned for the love that she could never find any place other than at her family. But her magnified feelings for Josh Matthews hadn't made her life easy in the last 4 years and she had known for a fact that it wouldn't be made easy any time soon either. What it was that she had felt for the man was absolutely beyond her control. Maya saw as Josh was playing with his nephew while she had remembered how her own uncle was with her. Aiden Hart was one of the most incredible men in her life, next to her father, and today she had missed him incredibly. Maya saw as Cory had came closer and giving Maya a guitar as she had smiled.

"Back when I was a child
Before life removed all the innocence
My father would lift me high
And dance with my mother and me
And then spin me around 'til I fell asleep
Then up the stairs he would carry me
And I knew for sure I was loved
If I could get another chance
Another walk, another dance with him
I'd play a song that would never ever end
How I'd love, love, love
To dance with my father again
When I and my mother will disagree
To get my way I would run from her to him
He'd make me laugh just to comfort me, yeah, yeah
Then finally make me do just what my mama says
Later that night when I was asleep
He left a dollar under my sheet
Never dreamed that he would be gone from me
If I could steal one final glance
One final step, one final dance with him
I'd play a song that will never, never end
'Cause I'd love, I'd love to dance with my father again
Sometimes I'd listen outside her door
And I'd hear how my mama cried for him
I pray for her even more than me
I pray for her even more than me
I know I'm praying for much too much
But could you send back the only man she loved
I know you don't do it usually
But dear Lord, she's dying
To dance with my father again
Every night I fall asleep
And this is all I ever dream."

"Wow," Josh said as Maya had looked at him.

"What are you trying to do, Matthews? Surprise your brother?" Maya asked as she had flipped her hair and started to sing a different song.

"I'm not a stranger
No, I am yours
With crippled anger
And tears that still drip sore
A fragile flame aged
With misery
And when our eyes meet
I know you'll see
I do not want to be afraid
I do not want to die inside just to breathe in
I'm tired of feeling so numb
Relief exists I find it when
I am cut
I may seem crazy
Or painfully shy
And these scars wouldn't be so hidden
If you would just look me in the eye
I feel alone here and cold here
Though I don't want to die
But the only anesthetic that makes me feel anything kills inside
I do not want to be afraid
I do not want to die inside just to breathe in
I'm tired of feeling so numb
Relief exists I find it when
I am cut
Pain
I am not alone
I am not alone
I'm not a stranger
No, I am yours
With crippled anger
And tears that still drip sore
But I do not want to be afraid
I do not want to die inside just to breathe in
I'm tired of feeling so numb
Relief exists I found it when
I was cut."

"You need to play your cards right," Maya said as Josh just shook his head.

"That definitely sounds like my brother wanting to achieve something. Cor, what are you busy with?" Josh asked as they heard a knock on the door.

"Shawn, this is a surprise," Cory said.

"Maya, you need to come home with me," Shawn said.

"Is everything okay? Is it Mom?" Maya asked.

"Your mother is fine. Just please, come with me," Shawn said as Maya grabbed her bag and instantly went with Shawn.

"Yeah, something is very wrong," Josh said.
