MELLIFLOUS

For me, music bought me so much happiness. Music became my stress reliever, emotion teller, comfort zone and it makes me feel something I wanted to feel.

I am melody. Yes, Melody ang pinangalan sa 'kin ng parents ko. My mom and dad really love music kaya ayon. I ended up having a name Melody.

I know a lot of people do love singing. Especially me, I am a Filipino and part of our culture is music or singing.

"Congratulations, Melody!" My mom said and gave me a tight hug.

I won another singing competition in our school. A lot of people compliment me about my voice. They say it's so pleasing to ears, golden voice and kung anu-ano pa.

"Good job, anak. I'm so proud of you." My daddy said and kisses my forehead.

"Congrats, Miss Alvarez for winning another competition." Our teacher greeted me as soon as I enter the room. I thanked him and sat at my seat.

"Congrats, Melody!" Bati sa 'kin ni Kadence, seatmate ko. Pagpasok ko ng school kanina, I received so many 'Congrats, Meloday' and some 'You have an amazing voice'. My heart really flattered. I am so happy na naa-appreciate ng mga tao 'yung talent ko.

"Thank you, Kadence." I said and gave him a smile. "Ano 'yan?" Tanong ko nang makita kong mag ini-sketch siya sa papel niya.

"Bahay," he said at ipinakita sa 'kin sketch niyang bahay. It's so good. Ang galing niya talagang mag-drawing.

"I have an art competition tomorrow. Sama ka?" He asked me. "Hapon, 5:30 PM."

"Sorry, we have a reunion kasi." I said. I felt bad dahil tumanggi ako, but I also can't missed the dinner. It's Tita Lueese at Tito Jeric's death anniversary. Hindi na nga makakapunta sina Kyrhee, pati ba naman ako.

"It's okay. I understand." He said and gave me a smile.

Our first class is about to start. I am currently Grade 10 student. Ito 'yung panahong marami nang kailangang ipasa or maraming nang kailangang gawin. But I won't complain kai  para sa grades din naman namin 'to.

"You may now take a recess." Our teacher said. Ang recess namin is after third subject. We're half day and AM session, so yeah. 9:30 AM ang reccess since our class started at 6:30 AM.

"Yes! This is my favorite time of the day." Sabi ni Celine, best friend ko, sabay uminat. Para siyang nakawala sa kulungan, e.

"Hello naman sa 'yo, binibining Melody." She said. I smiled at her and stand up.

"Recess na tayo." I said.

"No, ayoko! I'm not a recess, okay? I respect their skin color."
