3. don't apologize

Ugh. Isla goes up to her room and suddenly sees she's being called by Malachi.

"Yo Malachi tell Brady i say hey but I can't rlly talk right now"

"I'm not at Brady's anymore but okay"

Isla paused. She didn't feel like calling with both Brady and Malachi, they were fun to be around but she'd just feel left out on call since they were together and Isla just on the phone

"Oh, what's up"

"I was just wondering whether you were actually coming tonight" his voice sounded full of hope and surprisingly actually pretty excited.

Isla sighed, how could she say she wasn't allowed. He seemed so excited.

"Helloooo.. are you still there Isla? MOMMM THE WIFI IS ACTING UP AGAIN"

"Nono I'm still here it's just I'm not allowed to go outside tonight."

"Oh"

"Im sorr-"

"you're good don't worry about it"

"I could sneak out" Isla says, she hasn't done that ever before but she really wanted to hang out with her friends. Now more than ever

"Oh please don't I don't wanna get you in any trouble"

"I really want to come though"

"I mean you do you, don't just do it for me. I mean I was really excited to hang out with you.. i mean with you and Xochi Walker you know"

"I really want to too, ill text if I'll be able to sneak out okay?"

"Okay princess"

Its almost 10 pm and Islas parents are sound asleep, they were going to sleep early so they could pick up Tom from the airport tomorrow. Isla walks down the stairs as quietly as she possibly can and takes another look in the mirror. She looks good. She had changed her outfit 5 times, just incase there were gonna be pictures taken. She wouldn't want a picture of her taken while she looked like a homeless person but she didn't want to look like she was going to a movie premiere either.

"Parents are asleep" she texts Malachi. "Okay I'm walking to your house I'll be there in 5. Just 5 minutes later just like he said he's at Isla's house. She runs outside and hugs him. Its something she doesn't need to think about, friends can hug right? "Where are the others?" She asks the boy. "They didn't want to wait too long so they left already " He replies. Isla frowns. "Emma's house is like a 45 minute walk from here, and it's really cold" she says while fake shivering. "Wait.. if you were with them then you actually did walk 45 minutes to my house in the cold." If Isla had done the math she would've realised that that would've meant he left before she even told him to. He had waited for her

"The cold never bothered me anyway" he whispers in her ear while pretending like he has ice powers, like Elsa. "You want me to get an uber its pretty cold" he asks the girl. Isla shakes her head. After a while it's getting colder. "Maybe we should've ordered a cab after all, its not freezing cold in there. I can't feel my hands" Isla says dramatically.

"Just hold on a little bit longer we're almost there, in the meantime just hold my hand." Malachi says. "Because my hands are warmer than yours" he explains while grabbing her hand.

They were walking for a bit when suddenly they noticed a group of paparazzi's taking pictures of them. "Shit they'll know i snuck out" Isla murmured. "Don't worry i got it" Malachi winks at her while walking over to the guys. He makes up a excuse and gives each a $50 as he watches all of the photographers delete the pictures off their cameras and computers.

"You're finally here" Charlie cheers when they arrive at Emma's house. Isla does the handshake she and Charlie had made up on the set of Diary Of A Future President and hugs him. Emma joins them and says "Ah Isla I'm so glad you made it." Malachi coughs. "I'm also super glad you're here too Malachi" she continues while jokingly rolling her eyes.

Isla and Malachi enter the house, say hi to their friends and get some drinks. Isla sits down and talks to Brady and Xochitl. She takes a look at Malachi, he looks tired not cheery and happy like before. Isla jokes "Don't fall asleep kai, is it past your bedtime" He gives her a weak smile. Isla pulls him aside

"Are you okay?" she asks him.
"I'm alright Isla" "Whats wrong?"
"Just a headache don't worry about it" he answers. "Let's go home" she tells him. "No we shouldn't go just because of me, you really wanted to come I'm not going to ruin that for you." he spoke. "Malachi, I just really wanted to see you, you're the reason I'm here and I'm not staying without you. So we're going home" she ordered. Malachi nodded in agreement this time

On the way home they got themselves a uber because of Malachi's headache and because it was getting really cold. When the uber stops right around the corner of the Hollands house Malachi says "I'm sorry if i ruined your night"

"Don't apologize , being with you could never be bad"
