"Yes, to a lovely family with three children."

"It can't just be over."

"It is, I need your keys, please."

"I'll bet you're really enjoying this." Conrad tells her, as he fiddles with his keychain.

When he can't get it off, I try and help.

"Here, let me help."

"I've got it." He says.

"It's fine."

"I said I've got it." He demands, and I step back as he just pulls the key, off of the key chain.

Julia takes the keys.

"I'm not enjoying this, I'm just relieved that it's finally over," She admits. "Come on, Skye."

She walks over to her car.

"No! I'm not going." Skye yells.

"Fine, then stay," She says, getting into her car. "I'll see you soon."

We all sigh and head inside the house.

Last night

Conrad and me are sat on the side of the pool, with our legs dangling in the water.

"Pass it here." I say, gesturing to the bottle of vodka.

He hands it over.

"Okay, next one, what's my favourite candy?"

"Sour patch kids, obviously."

"Very good."

"What's mine?"

"Wild berry skittles."

"Mhm."

"Okay you think of one." I tell him.

"What is my favourite movie?"

"Donnie Darco, of course." I grin.

"Yep, and yours is Clueless."

"Well done."

"You are clueless." He grabs my hair and twiddles it around his fingers.

"Conrad."

"I'm sorry." He lets go.

"No it's okay, I just," I take in a deep breath. "Do you still think about me?"

He nods slowly.

"I really regret last summer."

"What about it do you regret."

"I think just Jeremiah and letting him down."

"Don't say that." He looks away and takes back the drink, sipping it.

"Say what?"

"Don't talk about you and him to me."

"I wasn't."

"You were going to."

"I was not."

"Don't lie to me, y/n."

"I, I wasn't going to talk about that part of it."

"Just stop!"

"Stop what?"

"Y/N." He puts his head in his hands.

"I always forget that this is the way it ends, you being annoyed."

"I'm annoyed at myself! I make everything worse." He stands up.

"Conrad," I stand too, and try to grab his arm, but because of the drinks, and being right by a pool, that obviously doesn't end well.

He falls onto the concrete.

"Con." I lean down.

"I'm fine, just go, get some sleep, please."

I nod and slowly walk away from him, not knowing how this just happened.

'Cause every time I get too close I just go mess it up.'
