It was early in the morning. Well, late enough for the gardeners + cooks + numerous others involved in the daily workings of Kensington but still so quiet Alex hadn't woken up. The same couldn't be said about Henry - kind of hard to wake up early if you never slept.
To clarify, its not that he didn't want to sleep - he couldn't. So, as his tired eyes salivated and tried to restore some kind of moisture, Henry became more aware of himself. The hands latched around his abdomen like a lock -- Alex kept them as so, regardless of his 'restless sleeper' status (alleged because any way of proving it like recording him would raise more questions than affirm any speculation). Henry's hands, which cradled his own parched cheeks, hovered over Alex's. They were warm like a toasted marshmallow by a campfire. So was he, Henry thought. He smiled at the thought, only for a second though. If it let him (it being his mind), it was almost as if he was touching him. But he wasn't.
He turned over and the draft hit him. The fire was gone. Alex was gone.

The last few days have been- tough. Hmm. I wish I could say I didn't know (I did). I did. That day, when we talked or 'talked' in ou- my room -- I knew. That time at lunch when i couldn't seem to read you right -- I knew. Not eating, not speaking, not sleeping to sleeping EARLY... I should've done something. I should've said something.
