Adara did not see any cities as they descended. She was perplexed and thought: "In my limited experience, but large data storage, every Emperor in history required a capital city and a palace. It's a statement of power. Even the Supreme leader of the Family had the biggest mothership."
As the shuttle descended closer to the surface, Adara saw vast herds of grazing animals on the plains that stampeded as the shuttle passed overhead. She thought: "This place is one big contradiction. What the hell is going on here? It's so familiar and yet, so bizarre."
'B' Sharp sent: "Welcome to the universe, Adara. It's full of beautiful and interesting things. Please, be careful. Oh... That's interesting, I feel a very powerful emanating from Krell. Someone down there can read minds."
"This Krellen ambassador has done an underhanded and sneaky thing to bring you here. I can read it now. They intend to milk your brain before letting you go. Now I understand what they meant by the reptiles giving them the ability to move to new worlds."
"I'm a little disappointed. These aliens are no longer my favourite. Remain sharp and constantly aware that the entity may try to deep scan you. It would probably fail anyway, as your brain is different from a normal flesh and blood one, the entity here will just get confused."
Then a few seconds later, 'B' Sharp sent: "Hmm, I think you are stronger than this entity, but don't let your guard down, meaning, watch your surface thoughts."
Adara felt a moment of fear and sent: "It's never too late to leave, but if I leave before their trap springs, the Ambassador will surmise that I can also read minds. Just stay with me and suppress any thoughts I have about our technology and our psychic abilities. No-one must ever know of either."
'B' Sharp said: "I'm always in your head, dummy. Remember this. In the worse scenario, we are both mentally weaponised. Do not hesitate to defend and disable this entity if it tries to attack."
Adara smiled and thought: "I sometimes forget you live in my head as well as your matrix. I guess it's because you don't impose on my thoughts very much."
'B' Sharp sent: "That's because I know you need your personal space, Anyway, on my planet, we have manners."
Adara laughed on the inside, knowing that 'B' Sharp's planet is Eden.
Adara felt the Ambassador touch a branch to her shoulder and she turned toward it and said: "My apologies, Ambassador, I am amazed at the unmatched beauty of your home world I see in the forward monitor. It is simply beautiful. I couldn't take my eyes off it, but why can I see no cities or evidence of commerce if this is your home world? I'm sorry, I understand what I'm seeing but I don't get it."
The Ambassador said: "When I introduce you to our Emperor, everything will make sense. Also, when we return Adara, I would be so honoured if you would allow me to tour your Mothership. She looks impressive from the outside."
Adara said: "I'm deeply sorry, Ambassador. This is the reason I came to visit you and did not invite you onboard. We humans can never allow anyone not currently living with us to enter our Mothership or any of our supporting ships."
"We must keep our secrets, Sir. It is our sacred right as a sentient species. Of course, I appreciate that it is accepted practice for secrets to be stolen from those who are not able to keep them, and I can't do much about that."
The Ambassador rustled its bare branches and said: "Ahh. You mean the great game of acquiring another's secret knowledge in order to even the odds of conquest. This Andromeda galaxy is founded on keeping abreast of innovation, whether ours or others, at any cost."
