In the letters, her parents seemed to wish for her to have a nice time during the holidays.
"Called me by my name please it makes me feel old if you continue with the Madam" I chuckle giving him a friendly smile. I spent all the holidays with them it was almost like they were my family and I liked the way things were.
I didn't even read the other letters and just the one that said I was going to be alone... again so I just threw it away.
I looked at the time and it was 8:30 pm Sirius or his brother wasn't in my
home so that was weird.
"I will go to the Black House, they are taking a lot of time" I roll my eyes "Eat the pastries or the chocolates if you want"
The house-elf nodded his head.
"Very well Miss Kiara, and sorry for calling you 'Madam', it won't happen again"
The elf then took the treats and disappeared through the door.
I walked with the snow falling in my head, the night was beautiful and quiet so I took my time, the Blackhouse was not far away so I could see it from mine.
Everything was calm but I could see a boy running towards me and I thought he was playing but he was alone and was shouting my name "Reg?" I ask myself but then I feel him hugging me so tightly and I look at his face "What the...?" I gasped when I saw a bruise on his lips "What happened? Where is Sirius?" I asked him looking behind but there was no one there.
Regulus was sobbing and barely able to speak.
The marks on his lips were very clear, indicating that his mom and dad had beaten him again.
"Mom... mom..." he said but couldn't finish his sentence since his voice was shaky.
A look of desperation was in his eyes.
I frowned angrily, always their mom, always Walburga being her abusive self.
Sirius could protect Regulus every time but he always got the worst punishments. Every single time we were on holiday he had bruises or was in pain but he was so strong that he never complained.
"Go to my house and stay there" I push him a little knowing he would be safe and I need to go for Sirius.
Regulus walked away without uttering another word as he knew his only safe place was Kiara's house when he received a brutal punishment. He knew she'd take care of him and protect him.
However, she was going to look for Sirius, she had to know what had happened, if he was okay.
Sirius' parents were the biggest assholes, they knew they'd abused him and yet, they continued doing that. They didn't even care.
I pick up my wand in front of the door "Alohomora" I said opening it and I didn't have to enter to hear how Sirius was yelling in pain while on the ground and his mother doing the Crucio spell on him while his father was behind looking and not doing anything, just crossing his arms.
"Expelliarmus" I disarm her and kneel next to him while pointing at them angrily "What is wrong with you two?!" I shouted.
"Stay out of this matter, he's our son so we can do whatever we want with him" Walburga yelled while her husband continued looking.
Sirius was lying on the floor with a look of pain on his face, they'd been beating him so harshly that he was close to passing out "Reg...." he whispered.
"You were using the Crucio spell on your OWN son" This was not a punishment, this was more than that and even if I was underage I couldn't use my wand outside Hogwarts I would kill both of them if they got near him. Sirius was taller and stronger than me but I put his arm around my neck and pulled him up with all my strength.
"He is at my house, he is fine. We will go there in a minute" I helped him walk but his mother was mad "Don't get near him or I will kill you" I didn't pull my wand down.
Sirius held onto her tightly, grateful for the support she was giving him as he'd already lost all strength. He had a horrible headache and was very dizzy, and Walburga's yelling wasn't helping him at all.
Sirius had been receiving the cruciatus curse for years and was always left severely injured. This was the worst it had ever been. But thanks to Kiara's quick intervention, it didn't last much longer.
Walburga was fuming, her face was red, ready to explode with rage.
Even if my house was not far away the walk there was difficult when his weight was on me "We are almost there" I whispered worried about him but in his pain, he was looking at me with a smirk "What?" I asked confused.
Sirius managed to give her a smile in response which meant that things were more or less under control. Still, he looked very pale and was sweating profusely.
"You look worried" A weak and joking voice came from him.
"It was just a little cruciatus," he said sarcastically. Although it hadn't been a little cruciatus and she knew it.
Sirius let out a loud breath as soon as he sat on the couch. Regulus immediately went to hug his brother, relieved that he seemed well.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah yeah, I just had a little chat with them, nothing special," Sirius said jokingly.
"They're going to kill you someday," Regulus said with a frown on his face.
"No, they're not. They just need to calm down" Sirius answered with fake confidence.
"Just sit and I will do it" I ordered him because he saw the bruise his younger brother had and he was trying to clean it feeling Regulus embarrassed for being treated like a kid when he was a kid but I just helped him first before helping Sirius.
"and why did they hit you two today? " I ask not understanding how someone could use a spell on their son.
Regulus blushed when he felt her cleaning the bruise on his lips, she was very caring.
Sirius answered with a shrug.
"It doesn't matter, the less you know about my house's dynamics, the better" Sirius replied, trying to change the subject.
"They were more violent today," Regulus said, confirming what happened.
"It was like always, he's just exaggerating," Sirius said trying to reassure his brother.
I was annoyed and sat next to Sirius cleaning his wounds "You two will not get back there" I said bossy "You will stay with me"
Sirius looked at her, he always enjoyed being around her.
"Are you sure?... I mean..."
"You want me and Reg to stay throughout the holidays at your house?"
"Not the holidays, forever," I say standing up and cleaning my hands "I mean not forever... you know what I mean, you two will live here and not return there"
I never was more serious in my life.
"And your parents... they are okay with this?" he said unable to hide the shock on his face.
I chuckle sarcastically "I haven't seen my parents in three years, they just send gifts from around the world, pay for everything, and receive a useless letter every month and they don't even write it, they just change the date" I was so lonely here "Trust me your company will make me good" I need them too.
Sirius smiled. The idea that all three of them could stay together at Kiara's had been something he had dreamed of for years.
"We'd love to stay at your house," he said happily, with a genuine smile.
Regulus on the other hand gave her an astonished look. He was surprised that he might now have the chance he'd been looking for all his life, to not only spend more time with Sirius but also to stay at a different, loving house, one where people cared for each other.
