Sigurado ako sa sagot ko but she looks unsatisfied and even look at me raising her brow.

“Hindi ganto pagkuha ng standard deviation, Reina. . .” she said softly.

“Focus here, Reina. . .” Pagtawag niya sa akin, “Tama ’yong variance mo. . . but you need to find the square root of the variance in order to get the standard deviation. . . like this.” she showed me the process and immediately checked on the calculator to double check.

She even gave me more examples while i’m just quietly looking at her processing all of her words. She’s good in explaining that I immediately digested all of it.

“Hmm, wow. . .” she said and even gave me a smile. Mabilis ko agad pinalakpak ’yong kamay ko pero bumuka agad ang bibig niya para mag salita, “But you forgot to put the mean. . .”

“Standard deviation lang naman hinahanap mo!”

“If I were your teacher I will immediately give you minus points, it’s part of the formula that’s why you need to include the mean, Reina. . .” she said and immediately gave back the paper.

Kinuha ko rin ’yong cake at linagay sa gilid niya, she stared at it for like minutes and decided to have a taste on it.

“Masarap. . .” she said and licked her lower lip.

.  ” I said boredly and checked my nails but when she respond of what I said my eyes immediately widen.

“No need, my dad bakes. . .”

I bit my lowerlips. No wonder!

“How’s your dad by the way?” I asked. She immediately put down her fork and stared at me.

She shrugged her shoulders, “Doing fine, I guess?”

I immediately shrugged my head with my thoughts. I can vouch for her.

It’s hard to admit but no wonder mom trust her to be my tutor when in fact we’re just both students, she’s smart SMART. She even recite the 1987 Philippine Constitution without even batting an eye on me!

“Gets mo na?” she asked me. I immediately gave her a thumbs up.

I can’t believe that I studied with her whole day!

She fixed her things when she saw that it’s already eight in the evening. Halos nag libot pa siya sa buong bahay para mag paalam sa lahat, she’s that generous — I hate it. She even gave me a smile and told me that I should ace the next exam.
