Chapter 1: The Echo

Mel was another test subject that the aperture science company found. Name close to chell (obsv) she woke up on a mattress with a portal gun beside her as glados started to speak "Hello, and the welcome to the aperture sciene enrichment center. Due to past troubles we're gonna provide you with a portal gun shortly." Glados says as she dragged the portal gun away the portal gun screeching on the metal floor as she throws it in the incinerator. "Oh well." Glados says "that portal gun was used by the last subject we had. You dont wanna be like her do you?... mel" as glados drags mel away aggressively smashing her into chells old room breaking the window as mel hits her head on the aperture radio. When mel gets up she runs out of the room trying to find a espace but evuntally gives up and gives in to glados challenges and starts to press random buttons to opening both blue and orange portals until glados snapped "ENOUGH!" Glados yelled as she grabbed Mel's leg and dragged her as Mel hit a wall.

"You want a precious portal gun so badly? We'll take it." Glados said as a portal gun dropped from the roof hitting mel in the face giving her a black eye as mel grabbed the portal gun and starting to the speak "I-" "no time for speaking test subject 542. We have testing to do." Glados stopped talking as mel started to make her way to an elevator and sat down as the elevator went up "who... is... chel-" the words mel was able to squeeze out before glados cut her off "chell? Why does that name so sound familiar" *now deleting chell* "heh... well I guess we'll never know" glados slowly clapping processer plays as she slowly laughs and the elevator stops shoving mel out as she enters the test chamber gripping the portal gun as she runs through the chamber shooting a orange portal at the top of the chamber and jumping into the hole making a blue portal falling into it and shooting out from the orange portal and smashes into the exit door and into the elevator "owh my he-" mel said bleeding slightly from her head "oh! It seems you need medical assistance." Glados chuckled slightly "come to my lair. I have a surprise for you. A MEDICAL surprise" glados says then stops as mel goes deeper into the lab. After completing the next 6 chambers mel stops and starts to tamper with the portal gun "hey what are you-" glados tries to take away the portal gun but mel starts to make it glow green emerging a new portal... a green portal as a rectangle. "What. Have. You. Done." Glados says as she found Mel hacked the portal gun. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE." Glados said said again as she grabbed the portal gun and crushed it 5 times and dropped it onto the floor opening up the incinerator with the companion cube flying out on fire. "It seems you cannot be trusted so you'll get the same fate as that companion cube." Glados says as she pushed mel in with the portal gun fully expecting her to die but the incinerator turned off? Then opened up a new layer a bottomless pit a voiced started to call out to mel "psst... hey over here!" A core said to mel as he was falling with her "you know... I am somewhat of an expert at this... I'm your core instructor you can just call me jello!" It said as long fall boots emerged from the walls and hitting mel "put those on... your really gonna need them." [end of chapter 1]
