4 - Scott POV

I walked into school and Xornoth nudged me and asked, "can you go to your first class on your own, I'm skipping to see Joey." I nodded and he headed off.

Time skip to class

"So," began the teacher, "we have a new seating arrangement." There were murmurs until the teacher shushed them. "Here we will have Pearl and Katherine." I let go of my breath that had been held ever since he said pearl's name. I'm not sitting next to her. She waved sadly as she made her way to her new seat. "Here is Joel and Shelby. And... hmmm... let's see. Perhaps, James and..." I held my breath again, crossing my fingers under the desk. "Scott." I couldn't believe my luck. I was sitting next to my crush. I got up on shaky legs and made my way over to the seat. The teacher finished the seating plan and continued the lesson. At the end it was revealed that we would be doing a project. A group project. Well, a partner project. Katherine immediately put he hand up asking,

"Can we choose our partners?" She was trying to catch Shelby's eye.

"No, you're working with the person next to you."

After school

I was walking towards the door when I heard a shout from behind me, "Hey freak!" I turned around to see Jimmy and I could almost feel the beating I figured I was about to get. "Since we have to do the project, do you want to come around my house?"

"I— umm. W-will Lizzie be there?" I couldn't believe it. Jimmy Shadow was inviting me to his house.

"Oh, no, she's going to Kath's house."

"Y-yeah sure. Let me text My parents and Xor first."

On the way there

As we were walking, it began to rain. "Oh shi—" I started, but quickly stopped myself.

"Language." Jimmy said, rummaging around in his bag. He pulled out an umbrella and putting it up over both of us. (It's cliche but I like it so...)

"Right, sorry." I responded.
