Thousands of years ago, before Goddess Qrexlena ruled over the Kingdom of Ethera, Valentine wreaked havoc across the Kingdom of Ethera. Thousands of deaths of people were accounted for over many years, all because of one single creature: a dragon with red beady eyes that glowed in the dark and scales that covered his entire body. His tail tilted your chin and struck your skin before you would meet your ultimate demise. And if you looked too long into his alluring gaze, your feet froze underneath you and that is when it struck.
His teeth dripping with tar would sink into your neck and suck the life right out of you. Your body would become wrinkled and your blood would never be yours again. Your death wouldn't be painless though, he would let you suffer in silence, with your vocal cords ripped out so you couldn't scream and the only thing you could do to try and escape was claw at the dark black scales he was covered in. Twigs and burs were rooted underneath each scute and with each hand you tried to claw at him he would seep her teeth deeper into your skin. He would draw deep red liquid out of your hands and a type of searing pain would be felt across your entire body. The poison in his tar-covered teeth would enhance the agony by tenfold and the only thing you could do by the end was look up to the sky and pray for a God you weren't sure existed.
But now, with Goddess Qrexlena, Valentine is banished to stay locked away with her, never to be seen again. That is until one of the royal family members doesn't make a sacrifice towards Qrexlena. Valentine craves mortal blood, and without it, his rage will take over and Qrexlena will unleash the black dragon into Ethera. And this time, with the knowledge leaked into the cities of Etherea of a God truly being out there, just one that doesn't care, what will they do now? They will suffer with no head to turn to, and she will laugh in the face of their danger and ignore their pleas and cries for help. She will watch from the sky and only point fingers when tar is seeped into the skin of humans. But for now, under her watch and control, a type of utopia will be given to the people of this kingdom—one where their only sacrifice to their happiness is human blood from a lover.
There is always an exception to these rules though, and so far, only two people have ever found these loopholes.
