Part 7: Games and crumbles

The hotel halls were now very dark with just handle lifghts bringing a slight light to the building and it was pipe quiet,

Finally, it was time to go to bed.

I was just passing Lucy's room when i heard grunting and cursing from behind the door.

Curious by this i knocked on the door despite my fast-growing fear for this woman.

After a few moments the door open to reveal the fish-lady with a twisted look in her eye that made my heart stop for a seacond. I gatherd all my courage, clenced my fist and asked in a light voice
" Are you okay?"

" I asked the princess for another type of sheet for my bed and now its..."

" Need help?"
I asked in concern

" No!"
The woman crossed her arms and looked away to avoid eye-contact

I raised an eyebrow
" You're sure?"

" No......."
She reluctivly stepped aside and gestured her hand to let me inside of her room to find her bed all messy. The pillows were at the floor and so we're the covers , the mattress and the new sheets were like tangled up together as if she'd just had a catfight with them. That idea of her wrestling the bed almost made me laugh but i went over to the bed and adjusted the mattress before taking the gray sheets
" Here, just take the angle, like this.."
I threw an angle to the woman and she took it with a grunt.

After a few tries and a few screaming and cursing from Lucy we had finally properd the bed

" Huh, pretty decent for first try."
I mutterd as i placed the pillows at the edge of the bed. Lucy didn't say anything and just say on the bed with a slight hum as in appreciation for my help but i could sense something else in her, disgust, frustration. I don't know, something like that.

At this moment i don't even know if i she trust me or want me dead for how she'd acted towards me and everyone else in this hotel.

" So~"
I started as i leaned closer to her side
" Since we're propably gonna spend more time together cause of these activities i think we should get to know eachother without Charlies supervision ofcourse."
I gazed into her yellow eyes with pleading.
" Please?"

Lucy once again seem to cringe at my face and apperence and i was almost sure that she was gonna kick me out of the room but to my suprise she'd huffed
" Fine......... just don't sit too close to me.."
When i sat down on the bed a meter from here she raised her finger
" and soon i'll go to bed and then you must get out of this room imdeitly!"
She raised her voice in demand

I simply nodded as i twirled my fingers
" Ok."

We sat there for what it feelt like minutes when it only was like a couple of seaconds. None of us saying a single word to eachother, just sitting a meter from eachother on a gray bed and the only sound that wa heard was the alarm clock beside the bed. I finally broke the silence between us
"So your name's is Lucy?"
I asked akwardly as i keept my smile on my face

" Yeah."
She sighed out

" It's a pretty name"
I responded

She just scoffed and crossed her legs together. She must think that i say that to everyone
" No , i mean it. Lucy is means light."
I spoke up again and this time she atcually turned her head to see me
" And light reminds me of the stars. I've loved to watch the stars ever since i was a little kid but unfortunaley you can't see much of them down here in Hell."

Her face lit up upon hearing those words, it almost seemed like she would crack a smile at any seacond now but it didn't appear and she just coldly replied
" Yes, i've noticed that..."

But she didn't stop staring at my face for what feelt like forever, like she was observing something in it in a way that made me more nervous than a shrimp in a whales mouth.

" Oh for fucks sake!"
She suddenly exclaimed , throwing her hands in the air in a swift mode before grabbing my arm with her left hand and pulled me close to her.

I got nervous by this sudden move before i saw her other hand rubbing my chin as she said in frustration
" You have cookie crumbles all over your chin, it makes you look stupid."

Confused by this i lightly licked my lip to taste cookie crumbles.....

A shit!

Niffty gave me some cookies she'd made earlier that day after dinner , did i really get crumbles all over my face? I feelt like a complete fool, an imbicil , and infront of one of the guest.

I feelt so emberassed that i tried to jerk out of her firm grip but she just held me tighter, determend to clean my face off
" No, let me help you, if i should be seen with you i can't have you emberass us like that."
She said brashly as she continued to clean my face.

My whole body was shivering at this and i could feel my heart raise in anxiousness. Her hand feelt so soft yet somehow very, very cold that made me shiver. Our chests were almost pressen together due to how close she had to be to finnish cleaning my chin off before touching my cheek, looking confused
" Your cheek feels warm."
She raised an eyebrow as she let go of me

I gulped
" Yes....."
I couldn't take it anymore so i quickly walked out the door with akward steps
" W-well, good night!"

I was just about to close the door when i heard ger voice
" Good night....?"
She said back in confusion as i closed the door gently behind me and stepped to my room with my chest tightning

" Well, that was an akward first night..."
