Chapter 8

Jaida's pov:

"guys i was joking" i said as they all started agreeing,
"no it's a good idea" Carmen said with a wink before she and George sat in the front,

Charles then climbed in the back before Alexandra climbed in on his lap,

Lando and i just stood there and looked at each other,

"come on guys it's already late" Oscar complained as Lando climbed into the middle seat making me sigh before climbing in and sitting on his lap before Oscar and Lily climbed in,

"well this is fun" i said as i sat up facing Charles and Alexandra with Lando's arms wrapped round my waist acting as a seat belt,
"and me and Lando couldn't sit in the front because?" i asked,
"Lando can't be seen driving a merc" Carmen replied making me shake my head,

George then took a sharp corner a bit to quickly making us girls nearly go flying, i felt Lando's arms tighten making me blush slightly,

"jesus George your not in an f1 car now" Lando said as i ended up laying with my back against Lando's chest after the corner,
"sorry guys sorry" George said as we shook our heads,

"you okay?" Lando whispered in my ear making butterflies fill my stomach as he rested his head
on mine,
"yeah" i replied as i rested my hands on his arms,

"how on earth did you guys end up so far" George asked,
"i'm actually impressed" Charles said making us laugh,

"what can we say, we're women of many talents" i replied making them laugh,
"i wouldn't call stubbornness a talent" Lando said making me go to slap him but he caught my hand first intertwining our fingers,

"no that's not fair accept it" i said making him laugh and shake his head,

we left our hands intertwined for the rest of the drive back,

once we were back i climbed off his lap before getting out,

"you alright there lando? got a bit of a semi have ya?" Charles said making the others laugh,
"oh please it wouldn't just be a semi if he did" i replied making the girls laugh as the boys looked at me surprised making me laugh,

i spent the rest of the evening in bed warming myself up before falling asleep.

~•the next morning•~

i woke up feeling ill and instantly realised i had caught a cold,

i got up and had a shower before laying back in bed with a fever,

the longer i laid there the longer i fancied some orange juice however the thought of dealing with a load of people sounded like my worst nightmare so i thought i'd wait until i knew the boys would have to be in their garages to go,

when it got to that time i went down to the canteen and got a bottle of orange juice,

"hey Jaida you alright?" Oscar said as i was about to leave the canteen making me turn to face him,
"oh hey Oscar, yeah i'm good, how are you?" i replied,
"i'm good, how come you weren't at breakfast?" he asked,
"just weren't feeling hungry, anyway i'll let you get back, have fun testing" i replied before turning and heading back up to my room,

Lando's pov:

i was sat in the McLaren garage when Oscar came back from grabbing us some water,

"hey i just saw Jaida" he said catching my attention,
"oh did you?" i replied as he nodded,
"she looked really pale, didn't seem herself at all" he said as i nodded,
"she's probably caught a cold because she's refused to wear a coat all week" i replied as he nodded,

the whole time we were doing testing i just wanted to go and see Jaida, so once it was finally over i bought some chocolate and orange juice before heading to her room.

Jaida's pov:

i was laying in bed on my phone when there was a knock at the door,

i laid there hoping they'd leave but when they didn't i got up and answered to see it was Lando stood there with chocolate and orange juice,

"Lando? what are you doing here? i asked,
"Oscar said you looked ill so i thought I'd come and check up on you, because i'm a good friend" he replied making me giggle,
"yeah Oscar is correct" i said,

"can i come in or" he said as i shook my head,
"you can't but the chocolate and orange juice definitely can" i replied making him drop his jaw in disbelief,
"no i just don't want you to get ill that's all" i said as he shrugged and walked in wrapping an arm round my waist moving me and shutting the door behind him,

"i don't care, takes what? 3 days for a cold to come out? Would've done the race by then" he replied as i shrugged,
"i'm not gonna fight your logic but know you have been warned" i said making him giggle as i climbed into the bed shivering under the covers,

"why are you down there?" i asked as he sat at the bottom of the bed,
he just shrugged as i rolled my eyes,

"get over here i need your warmth again" i said making him laugh as he laid next to me,

i then moved my head onto his chest as he wrapped his arm round me,

"you just using me for my body heat then is that it?" he asked making me giggle as i snuggled into him,
"and you smell nice" i replied,
"woah a bonus compliment" he joked making me weakly slap him,

"what have you done all day there's no tv in here" he said,
"watched tiktok" i replied as he nodded,
"anything interesting?" he asked,
"just thirst edits of you really" i said making him look at me with a smirk,

"stop looking at me like that- why you looking at me like that" i said making him giggle,
"the thirst edits have worked haven't they" he replied as i shook my head,
"no" i said,
"are you sure you definitely don't have a lando norris folder?" he replied,
"oh damn, you've caught me" i said sarcastically making him smirk,
"if you want exclusive clips all you gotta do is ask" he replied with a wink,
"Lando Norizz strikes again!" i said making him smirk,

"is that why your heart is beating really fast right now?" he asked making me blush slightly,
"it's not" i replied,
"i can feel your heartbeat on my side" he said,
"no you can't shut up" i replied as i hid my face in his chest making him laugh,

"it's okay i won't tell anyone you fancy me" he whispered in my ear making me sit up and cross my arms,
"stop being mean. I'm ill." i said making him giggle before i shivered again,

"come here" he said as he grabbed both my hands trying to pull me back to him,
"no" i resisted before smirking making him shake his head,

he then wrapped his arms round my waist catching me by surprise as he pulled me onto his lap,
