Chapter 1 : Nouvelle Départ

Start from the beginning

As I hurried through the unfamiliar streets of Paris, my heart raced with worry for the injured puppy cradled in my arms. Panic began to bubble up inside me as I realized I had lost my way, the maze of alleyways and cobblestone paths disorienting me.

Suddenly, a voice called out from behind me, and before I could react, a figure appeared on the rooftop above, his silhouette illuminated by the glow of the setting sun. I let out a startled yelp, clutching the puppy tightly to my chest as I spun around to face him.

"Whoa there, don't be alarmed," the figure said, his voice smooth and accented with a heavy French lilt. "I couldn't help but notice you seemed a bit lost. Need a hand?"

I blinked in surprise, taking in the sight of the masked stranger standing before me. Despite my initial shock, there was something oddly comforting about his presence, and I found myself nodding gratefully.

"Yes, please," I replied, my voice trembling slightly. "I'm trying to find the nearest veterinary clinic. This puppy is injured, and I don't know where to go."The masked stranger's eyes softened with concern as he glanced down at the whimpering puppy in my arms. "Say no more, ma chère. I'll take you there myself."

Before I could protest, he scooped me up into his arms with surprising strength, the injured puppy nestled safely between us. I let out a gasp of surprise, my arms instinctively wrapping around his neck as he leaped effortlessly onto the rooftops of nearby buildings.

The world blurred around us as we raced across the city skyline, the wind whipping through my hair as I gazed in awe at the breathtaking sight below. And as the sun lights up the blue sky, casting the city in a warm golden glow, I couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder at the magical experience unfolding before me.

The stranger smiled down at me, his emerald eyes sparkling with mischief as he held me close. "Enjoying the view, mademoiselle?"I nodded, a smile tugging at the corners of my lips. "It's incredible.
Thank you for helping us."He winked playfully. "Anything for a damsel in distress. Now, hold on tight. We're almost there."With that, he leaped forward once more, the cityscape stretching out beneath us as we soared through the twilight sky.

And as we finally reached the veterinary clinic, I couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the masked hero who had come to our rescue.

As he  landed gracefully on the rooftop of the veterinary clinic, he gently set me down on my feet, his emerald eyes meeting mine with a warmth that sent a shiver down my spine. Before I could say anything, he knelt down beside us, his gloved hand reaching out to stroke the injured puppy's fur with a tenderness that took my breath away.

"There, there, little one," he murmured softly, his voice filled with compassion. "You're in good hands now."

I watched in awe as he  leaned down to plant a gentle kiss on the top of the puppy's head, his lips lingering for a moment before he straightened up to face me once more. His gaze softened as he took in my expression, and for a moment, it felt as though time stood still between us.

"It was a pleasure meeting you, mademoiselle," he said, his voice low and melodious. "I am Chat Noir, protector of Paris. And you are...?"

I blinked, momentarily stunned by his sudden departure from our conversation. But as he reached out to take my hand
in his, a tingling warmth spread through me, and I couldn't help but return his charming smile."I'm Angélique," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper. "Angélique Joetta Roya. Thank you, Chat Noir, for everything."With a final, lingering glance, Chat Noir pressed a soft kiss to the back of my hand, his lips warm against my skin.

Then, with a graceful bow, he turned on his heel and disappeared into the night, his black cat ring glinting in the moonlight as he leaped effortlessly across the rooftops.
