Aurora's anxiety is eating its way through her stomach. She chews the dry skin on her lips between her teeth as she bounces on the balls of her feet. It's an awful habit, one that she hasn't been able to break for the past 24 years, but innocuous, not dangerous.
Except that in present company, it is dangerous; a fact that she forgets until she feels the skin tug free with a sharp jolt of pain. She hasn't even blinked before Damien's in front of her. Aurora gasps as his arms lock around her waist, pinning her own to her sides. She looks up, staring into crimson eyes locked on the spot of blood she can feel pooling on her bottom lip.
She doesn't dare breathe as Damien's head dips and his tongue snakes out to flick over her lip. Terror claws at her skin and she's trembling in his arms, knowing that this is probably going to be the end of her life. He has her arms pinned, she has no weapons, and even if he wasn't a vampire, the size difference is too much for her to brute force her way out of his hold.
And then he takes her lips into his mouth.
Aurora's body goes completely still, the tremors halted, and she feels hot, way too hot under her sweatshirt. She forgets what he is for half a second and just revels in how soft his mouth is against hers, how delightful the pressure of his lips is. 'Well at least if I'm going to be drained and killed, this is a much more pleasant way than having my throat ripped out.'
Damien's tongue slides across the break in her lip and with her mouth stuck open, she can't hide the quiet moan that slips out. He releases her so quickly she stumbles on her wobbly legs. Aurora blinks, coming out of the little pleasure haze she had been floating in to see Damien across the room, gripping the door jam so tightly she can see where the wood is splintering.

Again, this is just a snippet, but I had to get it written down and since I don't have any kind of writing blog or outlet or people to bounce ideas off of, I figured I might as well share it here just so it's out there and maybe build up some hype for when I get the writing underway since you guys can see the writing style a bit. :)
