Adora is swiping through hinge, mainly swiping left since she's really picky with her men (even though she is very much not looking for something serious).

She stops swiping left and is looking through this guy's profile, Parker. What made her stop wasn't the fact that she thought the guy was somewhat cute, but his response to the prompt and the cat pictures he had on his profile. Although Adora has a pet dog, she has a weakness for cats.

"Don't hate me if ... I'm not being good at talking."

"Huh", Adora thought to herself. "Well let's hope he's one of those guys that have a hard time starting a convo and not keeping a convo going."

She replies to his response to the prompt with:

"Honestly, that's so real"

Typically when she replies to a guy's response to a prompt, all she gets is radio silence. She didn't expect herself to match with Parker.

"You too? lol"

Adora gets excited. Who wouldn't? Matching with someone is exciting. You both have enough interest in each other to match. Knowing that someone is just as as interested in you as you are of them is always exciting.

The conversation starts flowing. They each learn a little more about each other the next couple of days. Adora starts to think that Parker probably lied about not being good at talking because of how well the conversation was going. This would later not be true.

She learns that Parker is an international student from China who moved to town for law school about 6 months ago and is still new to the area.

He learns that Adora doesn't go to university in the area, her university is 3 hours away and she's only in town for her winter break. Luckily due to the heavy snow the town and her university has gotten, the first day of the spring semester was pushed back to 26 January.

They chat a bit more for next couple of days before Adora asks Parker if he would want to exchange instagrams so she could send him the pictures of a cat she had seen not too long ago.

He agrees and they exchange instgrams.

"Yes! My plan worked", Adora thinks to herself. She wanted to get his instagram but wanted to natural about and not obvious. Even though, this quite obvious.
