Johanna made a snorting sound.
"Blunt as ever, Aster."
Haymitch: Because you showed them up.
Aster: Well, I'm sorry it didn't go the way they planned. I'm not very happy with them either.
Regulus asked her, "Do you ever take anything seriously?"
"Eh. Sometimes, when I feel like it."
Haymitch: Aster! This is serious. Not just for you. They don't take these things lightly.
SCENE CHANGES TO THE PRESIDENTIAL PALACE
(Two Peacekeepers escort Seneca Crane to a room, which contains only a bowl of Nightlock berries.)

Haymitch: When they ask, you say you couldn't help yourself. You were so in love with this boy that the thought of not being with him was unthinkable. You'd rather die than not be with him. You understand?
Beetee interrupted, "It's certainly true now."
Peeta and Aster shared a loving glance while Marlene 'awwed' at them.
(Aster nodded before walking on stage.)

Caesar Flickerman: How did you feel when you found him by that river?
Aster: I felt like the happiest person in the world. I couldn't imagine life without him.
"Yeah, I actually mean that now."
Peeta turned to look at his wife.
"What, you didn't mean it before."
Aster went silent while the Victors started silently laughing.
Caesar: Oh. And what about you, Peeta?
Peeta: She saved my life.
Aster: We saved each other.
Caesar: Ladies and gentlemen, the star-crossed lovers from District 12, this year's victors of the 74th Annual Hunger Games!
"I blame you for the whole 'star-crossed lovers' thing, Haymitch."
"I kept you alive, sweetheart. Stop moaning about it."
(President Snow crowns Aster with the victor crown)
Snow: Congratulations.
Aster: Thank you.
Snow: What a lovely pin. A phoenix, I think?
Aster: Yes. It's from my district.
Snow: They must be very proud of you.
Aster: I'm sure they are.
Remus wolf-whistled.
"The tension in that conversation is higher than it was between Lily and James in seventh year."
SCENE CHANGES TO THE CAPTITOL TRAIN
(on the train that will take Aster and Peeta back to District 12)
Peeta: So, what happens when we get back?
Aster: I don't know. I guess we try to forget.
"Peeta, why did you fall in love with her?"
"I have no idea."
"You can sleep on the floor later!"
Peeta: I don't want to forget.
SCENE CHANGES TO DISTRICT 12'S MAKESHIFT STAGE
(The people of District 12 cheer and congratulate them. Prim is on Gale's shoulders.)
The Victors held onto each other, preparing to watch themselves on the screen for the first time (except for Haymitch, Thresh and Rue).
