Looking at my reflection in the broken mirror across the room, a tear dripped down my face. The shimmering gold knife that lay atop my neck inches closer each passing second, teasing me with a death that I am not ready for. My sister has a look on her face that I can only pinpoint as true hatred, a look which I never suspected was even possible to inhabit her. She doesn't say anything, just breathes out softly with a swift hand movement, securing my demise. I fall to the floor heavily, gagging as the blood oozes down my neck and covers my blonde hair. I try desperately to hold on. All I need is one more chance. One more chance to see my mother, or to talk to my sister.

Something rolls out of my pocket, and although I can't see it, my fleeting mind snaps back to reality as I realize what it must be. I use what seems like all of my strength to turn my head slightly, as my sister picks up the item. A red glow starts to emit from it, and a concerned look flashes on my sister's face.

"What is this...?" She looks at me, then back to the item. She drops it suddenly with a shriek. "The hell...? No... I'm so close, so close to-"

I gasp as my eyes flutter open. I am alone. I feel my neck and sigh with relief. I am okay. I am alive. I hadn't ever noticed before, but I can feel my blood flowing. The room I'm in is familiar, but my mind is still blurry, and I can't tell where I've seen it before.

A hear a knock on a door in the far right corner of the room. I slowly get up and walk towards it. I open a close my hands, feeling the life flow through them. The doorknob is squeaks as I slowly turn it to the right. When I open the door, I see blonde hair. My blonde hair.

I see me. Standing in front of me is... me. But it can't be me because...

I realize what room I'm in. My sister's room. Why would the artifact bring me to my sister's room...?

"Come on, everyone's waiting for you!" The person looking at me through the doorway says, walking away shortly after. I stand there for a moment before I turn towards the mirror in my sister's room.

My legs shake as I walk towards it. I look away from it and then back at it a few times, as if what I'm seeing will change. Long brown hair. My sister's long brown hair.

I see my sister.
