The Make Over

I laugh. "Nah, can't do that to the horrible girl. But I'd love to look stunning for the guy who will be my date."

Nico and I search through the racks.

I come across a beautiful purple gown. "Nico?"

He smiles. "That's the one. Try it on."

I step into the change room and try it on. It fits me perfectly and it shows off all my curves. I step out of the room.

Nico claps his hands together. "That's the one."

Nico purchases the dress with bracelet, necklace and earrings. He carries the bag for me and we enter another shop where I purchase a couple of dresses and the final shop we go into is the shoe shop. I purchase a couple pairs of flat shoes, two high heels and two knee high boots.

I turn to Nico. "I'm starving."

He smiles. "So am I."

We walk into the food court. "What do you want for lunch?"

"I'm going to get a chicken salad sandwich."

He looks around at all the fast food shops. "I'll meet you at the table."

I nod. " Okay,"

I walk to the shop and order my lunch. I find a free table in the middle of the food court. Nico joins me at the table.

At home I put away all the things I purchased. My room has a couple of boxes on the floor and plastic bags all around the room.

I pull my phone out and call Austin.

Someone: Hello?

Me: Hey, it's Valentina. The plane on the 8th July leaves at 11.

Female: What are you doing calling my boyfriend?

Me: I'm sorry I have the wrong number.

I check the phone number. It's the one that Austin called me from last night.

Female: Who are you after?

Me: Au-Austin.

Female: He's not going anywhere with you.

"Who is that?" I hear him yell.

Female: Wrong number, baby. Come back to bed with me.

I throw the phone across the room.

Fuck! What am I going to do now?

I slide down the wall and tuck my head into my knees.

My phone starts ringing.

Why didn't the iPhone break. I threw it hard enough against the wall.

I pick up the phone.

Me: Hello.

Guy: It's Austin Knight. I'm sorry that happened to you. I just met that crazy bitch.

Me: Whatever!

Austin: Do you have the times?

Me: Yeah, the plane leaves at 11. Change of plans. I'll meet you on the plane. I have courier drop you the ticket.

Austin: Okay, I'll see you there on the 8th.

Austin gives me home address and I write it on a piece of paper and I put the tickets inside.

Austin: I can't wait to put a face to the voice.

Me: Me either. I bet your hot. I slap my hand over my mouth.

I didn't mean to say that out loud.

Austin: I have to go to work.

Me: Bye,

I hang up.

Nico walk into the condo. "How did the phone call go with mr jerk?"

I shake my head. "A girl answered his phone and claimed to be his girlfriend. Do you think he'd have a personnel mobile number and a business one?"

"I'm not sure, Val. I hope this jerk doesn't stuff you around."

I have a couple of rules for mr Jerk.

Nico smiles. "What are they?"

Rules.

1. Don't fall for Mr Jerk
2. Don't sleep with him
3. Follow those two and I should be fine.

Nico laughs. "Babe, I'm not sure if those would work. You have to call me if something progresses between mr jerk and you."

I smile. "Sure you do. I think you'd like to rub it in my face. If I find my 'Happily Ever After.' I'll help you with yours."

We do our fist bump thing and laugh.

When I get back we're looking for someone for Nico.
