*I love Alba Flores in the series Sagrada Familia!!! So she inspired me to write this.

**English and Spanish are not my first languages, so let me know if somewhere is too confusing.

***The conversation is originally written in Spanish, translated to English myself. If readers here don't like it, maybe I'll change it all to English.

****I don't know if this is worth going, we'll see how well this works.

My girlfriend just abandoned me in this cold December of 2023. Today was the day she moved out of my house, and it was also supposed to be the day that she moved out of my heart. Though, the latter one was much more difficult to achieve, as no one could help me pick up all her things here and throw them out.

She closed the door without saying goodbye and entered the world in the snow. It had been snowing for the past week, giving it the feel of a classic Christmas. However, the bitter cold weather didn't have a positive effect on my emotions.

I was sitting on the windowsill, watching the truck carrying her and her belongings away from me. Then I put my hand on the glass till it covered all of the track, hiding it from my sight. When I took my hand back, the track was totally gone. And I was officially left alone by the world.

Just like that, I lost her, my first girlfriend Irene.

I cuddled myself together, trying to keep myself warm, but I couldn't help but feel the coldness seeping into my bone. I feared the loneliness that was certain to come in the next few weeks. Even worse were the questions my friends were gonna ask me, like why did we separate, whose fault was it, and as I knew it, some might even introduce me to other girls out in this world.

God knows I'm not ready for this.

Irene wasn't someone that I was able to forget in such a short time. She was the kind of girl everyone liked in school. She was blonde with her hair curled on the end, which rested on her shoulders. She got a face that was sure to be discovered by the film or TV show industries. She got a body that existed only in sculptures and not in reality. She was tall enough to be a basketball player, and at the same time lean but powerful like one without the exaggerating muscles. Her clothes were always the ones landing on our school chatrooms online. And her scores, well, let's say, she wasn't your usual types of those girls who only got a pretty face.

Till this day I still couldn't understand what she saw in me out of all the others in the same school — a girl that always had her nose buried in books and still struggled with her studies sometimes.

Honestly, this whole relationship was kind of confusing for me. I mean, I did love her like a proper girlfriend. We were like every other couple in the world, we moved together into an apartment, then we found a house in the suburb of the city, and decided to rent that House which costed two third of my salary every month.

The house was old-furnished and had its own problems. However, what was really important was that she loved it and I loved it. The neighborhood was tranquil, secure, with loving parents, cute children and elder citizens that were keen on saying hellos every time we met on the streets.

Now, with her leaving, the rent became a burden for me as I couldn't share it with others. As it took up that much of my salary, the quality of my life might as well be affected. To any rational person, this might be the high time to move to somewhere with less costs.

The thing is, I wasn't prepared to move out of here yet. I wanted to be surrounded by familiar people here, and most importantly, with the surroundings here. It was, after all, what I had during the last several years after graduation. This house, this place was meaningful for me not only because of Irene. Although I had to admit it was mainly because of her.
