PALEST HUES OF GREYS AND CRIMSON
frolicked the darkening sky as the downpour continued. This seemed to be the weather's condition ever since an hour before sundown. The winds were howling, and the air cracked crisp with frequent thunders. The scene was rather melancholy, and it was deemed to be an evening that would go well with a cup of hot cocoa and a soothing instrumental as you sat by the window, listening to the spluttering throughout. But that didn't seem to be the case for Richard Parker. He was in a hurry, and to him, it seemed like every second he wasted by walking slowly, mattered. His breathing was haggard, but his conscious and hyper-awareness seemed to be thundering. Ever since the morning, he felt eyes on his every move. It only seemed to have gotten worse when he neared the street leading to his home. Almost instinctually he took a different turn, letting his paranoia and concern for his family, for his young boy, get the best of him as he kept gripping the handle of his suitcase until his palms and fist turned utterly pale. He needed to return to his lab, and he needed to return fast. The rain only made the situation worse for him.
