Author's  note

Hello makkaleyy, hope you all are doing good. Thank you to all those who have read the previous chapter. Here's to hoping that you'll continue giving the same support, if not more. Please do stream Adipoli whenever possible and keep them both in your prayers.

I was supposed to type the chapter yesterday but I was way too fatigued to type anything. The English translations are funny because I lack the strength to process everything and Tamil dialogues were written prior. Sorry about that. Will definitely work on it later.

Chapter Two

Singing a newly released movie song and with a basket dangling in her hand, a little girl hopped on her way. With her each hop, her ribbon clad hair plait danced along.

"Confuse pannatha kannala thaan

Naan stun aren unnala thaan

Enna unfollow pannaalum altaama thaan

Vandhu nippen un munnaala thaan"

(Cute Ponnu song from Enna Solla Pogirai)

The little girl sang as she jumped in front of a rice flour shop and gave her basket to the lady in the shop.

"Vaa de kutty" The lady in her mid-fifties got the basket from the little girl, "Yenna ivlo late ah vara? School ku poga vendama?"

(Come, dear. Why are you late? Don't you have to go to school?)

"Saradha aunty, atha yean kekuringa? Kaalailaye naa amma akka lam aathuku kulika ponom. Adha late agiruchu"

(What do I tell you? Early in the morning, my mother, sister and I went to take bath in the river. That's why I'm late)

"Aathu la thanni nalla varudha?" Saradha questioned as she filled the rice batter in the vessel and kept it back in the basket.

(How's the water flow?)

"Ohhh, super ah irundhuchu. Nalla chill nu" The little girl beamed and her smile widened when she heard a Bullet bike sound in the distance.

(It was super; really chill)

"Anna vandhruchu!" The girl squealed making Saradha smile. It warms her heart that everyone loves her son.

(Brother's here)

"Hahaha, indha da" Saradha handed the basket to the girl who gave her money.

(Here, dear)

"Na annan ah pathutu poren" Charu declared.

(I'll go after meeting brother)

Saradha nodded her head with a smile. Soon the bike came to a halt in front of the shop and a man in his late twenties got down and removed the helmet. He was dressed in a track pants and yellow jersey that fitted well to his tall handsome frame.

"Ashwinnn annaa" The girl squealed and rushed to Ashwin before hugging his legs making Ashwin chuckle.

"Charu, school ku polaya da inum?" Ashwin asked placing the helmet in his bike seat before wrapping his arm around Charu's shoulder.

(Why didn't you go to school still?)

"Unn Bullet sound ketucha anna. Adha unna pathutu polam nu wait panen" Charu smiled widely.

(I heard your bike sound, brother. So, I waited to meet you and then go)

Ashwin patted Charu's head lovingly before he said, "Seri vaa, mor kudichutu polam"
